Amazing - must do

The geysers were amazing, definitely worth the 430am start time. You have opportunities to see lots of wildlife as well. Definitely a must do while in san pedro.

Of course there are plenty of people there in the mornings, but I guess that's clear when you're at a touristic spot. Don't forget to take your bathing suit since our tour took us to hot springs after the geysers. You have to get up really early but it's worth the experience. The geysers are on 4300m, so you should... More

Is a volcanic caldera. Leave town by 4:30am and be there before sunrise to really enjoy the view. Bring coat or jacket. It get cold since you are up in the mountains. The have a thermal pool fed by hot geyser water, so bring your bathing suit & towel.

We booked our tour with World White Travel on the Main Street in San Pedro. Our guide Victor picked us up at our hostel at 4.30am. The tour was fantastic, the geysers are a sight to see as the sun rises in the freezing cold. We got some great long exposure shots in the mist. We had breakfast overlooking the... More

I guess seeing the geysers is cool, however, I enjoyed the surrounding landscape and the return trip in the daylight even more. It was fun spotting the wildlife from flamingos to guanacos. It is also a good idea to come down slowly being that one is at 4300m at Geyser del Tatio.

We arrived before sunrise, to an apocalyptic scene of coughing fumaroles and swirling mists. It was not until the sun rose and burnt off the mists that you could appreciate the extent (almost 4sq kms) of the geyser field. Don't expect fountains spurting high into the air: it's about bubbling mud pools, and fumaroles in profusion. The tours seem to... More

Went there as part of a tour, you end up leaving very early like 4am. There is not much to see once the sun comes out but prior to that the geyser activity is really nice with geysers in various stages some are still developing, others have huge water sprays and some have big mineral deposits. It gets very cold... More

it was a great experience to see the Geysers in action early in the morning. Be prepared to stay in the line for the bathroom break as most of the tour busses come to the geyser area at the same time in the morning. Many travellers take a bath from the hot spring. Change rooms are available. Most tours add... More

A 4.30 am start and a long drive to the geysers but well worth the trip. The scenery is amazing and the panoramas spectacular. A very photogenic experience. The colours change as the sun rises. You do need warm clothing but do not forget your swimsuit.

I loved everything !! I went with Whipala Expedition and the guide Hugo was the best guide ever! We departed the hotel really early in the morning, around 4:30am to get the full experience! Incredible!! The scenery is amazing and it is better to do this tour on your second or third day in Atacama so your body can get... More
