My husband and I visited the Lapostolle Winery with our friends as part of a full day wine tour. The property is beautiful and the cylindrical building is very modern and unique. This was our favorite vineyard tour. At the end, we tasted three wines, our favorite of which was their small production Clos Apalta red wine blend.

Not only did the Lapostolle winery (owned by the french Lapostolle Marnier family that is most famous for its Gran Marnier)produce the best red wine of 2008 (the Clos Apalta), but did it also build one of the most well thought through and beautiful vineyards I've have ever seen. From its shape to it's functionality and design is the building... More

We booked ahead for the wine tour followed by the evening meal. The wine tour only lasted an hour and would have preferred to have the wine tasting in a room where you could sit and was at a more sensible temperature. The cost was more than other vineyards so was a bit disappointed with it. There was an hour... More

If you are into architecture, you must visit here! The thought and planning that went into this "bird's nest" building is amazing. Cut into the hillside, you can see the stone from the inside and walk on it as well because they used the stone they removed for the flooring. Placement of lighting to highlight wine barrels to ceiling lights... More

If you have to choose only one winery to go in colchagua valley, go to this one... Here they follow the "intervene the less you can" lemma in wine production to the extreme. No pumps, no filters, no machines,... everything is handled manually and the winery is built vertically so that the wine can follow to the next one through... More

We had a excellent 4 course lunch, each course accompanied by a different wine here in lapostolle wine yard. All i can say it was delicious and worth every penny we have paid for it (40.000 p.p.). Afterwards we took the winery tour which was also very good. The architecture is outstanding and the guide was very knowledgeable about all... More

We knew it would be a nice experience, however it still exceeded our expectations. Wine making in a world class standard, using gravity as the major source of transport and then producing superb wine is really an amazing experience. Even the architecture of the building is spectacular. We were here off season so without previous appointment. I am not sure... More

This is one of the best wine tours that I have experienced. The winery is stunning but importantly the person conducting the tour was very knowledgeable, informative and professional. The wines tasted at the end were very good including one of their premium wines. We had booked lunch at their on-site hotel. The food and matching wines served were average and overpriced for what you... Probably one of the most scenic and beautiful wineries I've ever been to. The aging chamber and cellar are unbelievable - and you taste the wines in a dark cellar near the owners private collection Outdoors the views make for some great photos as well. Only comment - we found the wines sold here were actually cheaper to buy back... More
