So well laid out and a real must see treat ! It's seems underplayed for such a little jewel The journey through time makes it easy to understand and we were overwhelmed by the amount of beautiful exhibits They need to shout more about this place as it's certainly as good as the museum of Anthropology in Mexico City ,... A fascinating museum, with basic Audio commentary for those less fluent in Spanish (!!). A mass of exhibits that gave you so much information on Chile's history and development. The exhibition on the trapped 33 miners in 2010 was a real highlight. Really excellent, although eventually we gave up on the last few rooms, as our brains couldn't take any... More

This is a MUST do here in Santa Cruz, wow what an amazing museum to visit ! My husband and I love visiting museums, we've visited great museums in Italy, France, Washington DC, Sydney, even in Santiago de Chile, but I must say this one is special, it's so well organized and very educational. I couldn't believe is so well... More

People told us this was the best museum in Chile and we didn't believe them. We've been to quite a few and they were right!! It's huge - the information is comprehensive (get an English audio guide) and you don't have to see it all in one day - the ticket is valid for 24 hours (I think). There are... More

This museum was a pleasant surprise. We expected to spend an hour and ended up spending four. The exhibits range from fossils, to pre-columbian art and jewelery to spanish conquest and independence to railways to the rescue of the 33 miners very recently. The displays are in Spanish except for some in English in the Weapons room, but they have... More

We could not believe this incredible museum! We could have spent the entire day walking through the numerous rooms filled with incredible artifacts and art. It was truly amazing, and deserves much respect and many visitors. Few people were there when we were visiting, and we felt like we had the place to ourselves. The gift shop is also incredible.... We took 2 days to go through this extensive collections of arts and history exhibition. The museum is set in a beautiful courtyard housing compound. It is really worth the visit!

Very interesting museum. We were given English headsets, which was a nice gesture, but the information on them was pretty shallow/basic. The museum is interesting enough without though that we enjoyed our time. All the signs are in Spanish. The museum covers everything from prehistoric times to more modern, and the armory with Nazi memorabilia is very interesting. We enjoyed... More

Great hotel that covers Latin American history. A very interesting aspect is the section on the 2010 mine collapse and subsequent rescue of 33 miners.
