Somewhat Disappointing

We booked the high end tour but were grouped with those doing a less tour so our group was approximately 15. The tour guide didn’t seem very knowledgeable and the tour felt repetitive and rushed. We were informed during the tour that we and 3 others who had also booked the high end tour would exit with the guide at the end for our tasting of the two high end wines. This proved to be very awkward and the guide rushed through the description/tasting of the last two wines and made her exit quickly. The setting was lovely but the tour was lacking; and was more expensive than another winery tour we enjoyed more.

Amazing vineyard!

There are plenty of reasons why this vineyard is in fifth place around the globe in the 2021 ranking of thea best vineyards. The architecture, the restaurant, the valley, the wines, the great service and tour options are just great. We have such a great time and the wine we tasted we all amazing. The wine prices are prettty good as well so very recommendable to buy a couple pf bottles before returning home!

Beautiful

We toured this winery and had a tasting as part of our tour with Colchagua Wine Tours. The tour was excellent - they provided a great overview of the history of the winery, the Apalta region, and the operations of the winery. It was a good balance of being informative and showing us the many different parts of the property without being overly academic or boring. The tasting was downstairs near the cellar room and the wines were delicious. We never felt rushed during the tasting and the guide was very thorough with each wine. She also answered all of our questions thoughtfully. A great winery - this is a must visit when visiting the Colchagua Valley!

Interesting hike through vineyards with tour!

We selected a private hiking vineyard tour and we were not disappointed! Francisco our guide was very knowledgeable and took us on a hike through the Montes vineyards. Early March the weather was warm, sunny and the grapes full and ready for harvest. The grounds are spectacular, and hiking gave us an opportunity to see from many perspectives. After the hike, Francisco took us through the production facility and the storage room-where the barrels were resting with the wonderful sounds of Gregorian chants playing! An excellent afternoon, which we then capped off with lunch at the restaurant Fuegos Apalta.

Beautiful winery with elegant surroundings and well kept grounds. We had a lovely tour with the charismatic and knowledgeable Eric who also organised the tasting with us.

Outstanding wines presented and served against the backdrop of a spectacular winery. The cellar is a veritable shrine where the wine rests while being shrouded in soothing music.

The restaurant earns a great recommendation for its own formidable merit. Exquisite food accompanied by the beautiful Purple Angel wine provided an extra dimension to this excellent experience.

Picturesque Restaurant with Phenomenal Food and Wine

This was the perfect place for lunch in Colchagua Valley! Every dish my fiancé and I had was phenomenal! All the food was fresh with bright flavors. We paired each dish with a glass of wine with some help from the sommelier. The wine was very good. The open air restaurant provided picturesque views of the vineyard! Highly highly recommend visiting for lunch!

This is truly a must see if you find yourself in the Colchagua Valley. From the grounds to the tasting rooms to the boutique, this is a beautiful place. And I haven’t even started talking about their wines. I recommend you do both flights of reds. Even though there’ll be a slightly weaker one in both flights, the other three plenty make up for it. Spectacular red wines. I promise you won’t regret it even if you’re not a seasoned wine drinker. The personnel is young, affable and available. They comfortably cover all Romance languages and English for sure. You’ll need at least an hour or kore to fully enjoy this place. This does not include a visit of Fuegos de Apalta, the adjacent restaurant.

This was my favourite. Great guide giving us an insight into all aspects of the wine making process. The tasting was done in a leisurely fashion. The property is stunning and the highlight is the restaurant...expensive but definitely worth it

Eco-friendly and practices dry farming

My wife, daughter, and I stopped here for a wine tasting. I was familiar with Montes Alpha wine which I have enjoyed in the USA, so I looked forward to visiting the winery. Romy was the charming and knowledgeable guide for our tour and tasting. We started our tour out in the vineyard. I was impressed hearing that Viña Montes is an eco-friendly winery that uses dry farming techniques. The tour of the winery was educational, and we got to do barrel tasting, which I have come to enjoy (wine from the barrel is younger and tastes different from bottled wine). I enjoyed most of the 4 wines I tasted: the 2017 Montes Alpha M, the 2011 Montes Folly, and the 2017 Purple Angel. I purchased 2 bottles to bring back to the USA with me. Then we had lunch in the restaurant and got to try some other Montes wines. It was a fun experience.

Fabulous wine tour

Superb wine tour. Very slick and well organised and our guide Nas was extremely knowledgeable and very welcoming.
Very interesting insight into a great Chilean business and fabulous wines.
