We love the Holiday Film Series & catch a few movies each year! Great way to take a break during the busy season! Beautiful & intimate venue. Concerts here are great as well, not a bad seat in the house.

So glad this theater was refurbished. My mom spent many hours here as a teenager and told us stories about the theater when we were growing up and it was closed. Feels like you have been taken back 50-60 years when visiting. The craftsmanship and ornate features are lost to this generation. Actually have letters from WWII and the theater... More

Every year the Alabama shows Christmas movies through the month of December. You may have seen the movies dozens of times at home or possibly in a theater but the experience cannot match up with the Alabama. First, the theater is nicknamed the Showplace of the South for a reason. It is beautiful with the touch of class. Families line... More

Loved every minute of our visit to watch Christmas Vacation. All of us enjoyed the historic theater, sing along with the wonderful organ and family time watching a new classic

I have loved the Alabama Theater since I was a child. I'm so glad the this beautiful Birmingham landmark was restored and saved. Don't miss a holiday movie in "The Showplace of the South" From classics to newer releases, the holiday movies are a popular attraction, check out the schedule and go see one of your favorites! This is one... More

This gorgeous landmark theater still earns her old nickname. This is really like stepping back in time to an era when these fine theaters drew patrons from hundreds of miles. The place is simply ornate and stunning inside and out, and the sight lines are incredible, NO bad seats in the house! I've been here many times and always leave... More

This was my first visit to the Alabama Theatre. We came from out of town for the Josh Ritter/Jason Isbell concert. It's always a fun experience to go see a musical act in a grand theater that's able to offer an intimate feel. We bought balcony seats and the view of the stage was great and the acoustics were perfect.... More

Since 2008 I have made many trips to the Historic Alabama Theater. There are Summer and Winter (Christmas specific movies) film series on Fridays and Sundays. There are also children's film series on Thursdays and other times (just check their website). My favorite time to visit this venue is for the Rocky Horror Masquerade Ball which features 2 costume contests... More

I've been going to the Alabama since I was a kid and have been overwhelmed every time I have been there. In between visits, you forget just how awesome this building is. Thankfully it has been preserved! I've seen movies, shows and concerts, attended events and even one wedding. During high school, they even allowed us to film inside for... More
