The view is spectacular but don’t be afraid of heights. You can see for miles so go on a clear day. It’s not expensive and it is one of those go to places.

If you’ve never been, I would say you should definitely go. It’s an interesting site with a lot of history. The view of Birmingham from the top of the Vulcan is really cool.

Vulcan, long hailed the crowning jewel of Birmingham is the most significant cast iron statue in the World (according to those in the 'know'). Moreover, you cannot find a better panoramic view of Birmingham (and surrounding areas) than from atop Red Mountain and the landscape(s)...More

Great little park! This is a little gem in the middle of the city. If you appreciate Art Deco design, or anything1920s-30s, go! You’ll also learn about the history of all the red brink you see throughout the US (particularly on homes!) Have fun!

Rode the elevator to the top of the statue's base. Cloudy day so the view was not the best but still nice. The museum is small but informative. Cute gift shop too.

You can pay to go to the observation tower and/or the museum separately. The observation deck is NOT good for people who do not like heights so save your money on that and just check out the museum if you don't feel comfortable. However if...More

It was a cold, windy day when we visited the park. However, still enjoyed the elevator to the observation deck and the wonderful views of the city. The statue is pretty amazing also.

Best view of the Birmingham area and the museum gives a historical perspective on Birmingham that you may have never heard. Entrance fee is nominal.
