Lovely little town. Friendly folks. We stayed at the Minjianghaoting hotel and it was perfect. Shops are open so early so we got to walk around before we head up to Huanglong Park. Loved the colors in this town.

The unique mix between ancient city and tibetan, give you a new experience. From my hotel at Shanba village, I took a bus for CNY 3 per person. The bus was passing through the beautiful lavender fields. The fields are open for public. We can take photos as many as we want by paying CNY 20.

A small transitional town which serves as a gateway to Juizhaigou National Park. One main street with 'traditional' Tibetan shops, hotels and restaurants. Take the opportunity to explore different kinds of restaurants. I ate in a Muslim restaurant and had yak stew with various vegetables. There are hotels of various sorts. A good place to take a break.

This is a lovely place for a stop over on the way to the Jiuzhaigou Parks
The old wall etc is still all intact and it has the distinction of being the most easterly Tibetan city, with a long history. It was the place where the Tibetan Princess came to
Live to forge ties with the Chinese Empire and there is a heap of info around the town.
We only spent a couple of hours there but would seriously like to go back and explore the rest of the place. The locals dress in a combination of styles and it’s not unusual to see elderly Tibetan women in full kit.

Its like visiting a europian village but china style...
Love every part of it...cleanliness, the city planning, the garden and the mountains.
My family loves it very much...would love to stay few days more just to get the zen of the city.
Fully recommended....with the exception of the toilets...do need to upgrade for the sanitation

It seems (please verify) Chuanzhusi Town, Songpan County, Sichuan Province was very badly damaged in the 2008 earthquake. The town looks brand new. There wasnt much activity the day our bus stopped for lunch. We were enroute to Zhaga Waterfall. Most of the rebuilding has been completed. Unsure what activities are available. Two very distinctive new bridges.

Chuanzhusi is a on the way to JIuzhaigou, surrounded by snowmountains, and it was once a stop for the Long-march of the Red-army.

I stopped by Chuanzhusi town to have a lunch and then visited a lavender garden. The garden is quite large with lavender and yellow flowers. Really a surprise to me.

We visited this place on the day we toured Mounigou. While very authentic in that the ancient city is very much in use today, the overall environment was not too inviting as it was pretty dusty. In addition, as all the shops were of the functional types with no craft shops in sight, we quickly tired of walking around. I think a drive through is good enough to glimpse the old fort walls and there isn't the nice feeling one gets when walking through some other ancient towns which offers a much greater ambience.
