Tiny buttons in to the clothe and then put the fabric in dye and let it soak. After they take the knots out and get beautiful designs in the fabric.

Beautiful architecture--so much of the old world charm still remains. Strolling the streets and alleys in early mornings and evenings is the best! You will see every day life happening, with so much of the population still wearing the traditional tribal Bai culture clothing going...More

As far as other reviewers are saying, the building itself is indeed less than a couple decades old. Admission (30 RMB without the dancers) is a fair price to see what's essentially a replica of a typical Bai architectural design, which is essentially what you're...More

65 rmb to see a few temples that you have probably already seen 20 other times in china. Several stupid stores inside selling nothing interesting. Guide was annoying. Find something else to do.

This is a traditional Bai nationality house, with a cultural dance and service of 3 teas during the performance. A good introduction to the culture and customs of the Bai community. The performance is not top- notched but the architecture and artwork of the house...More

You entered into this enclosed village where there are some original homes and rooms of the Bai Nationality. They are best known for the tea. As part of our tour, there is a tea tasting and show. You get to try three teas and they...More

Pretty much a tourist trap. Entrance fee of RMB 60/ head is way too much, given the quarter-hearted "tour" in strong Dali village accent and "brand new" architecture (nothing ancient about it). The rooms downstairs were properly furnished... Gives you the chance to sit on...More

If you like architectural design, this is one place that you don't want to miss! It is a two storey high building with very fine artwork, caligraphy and paintings by Bai Ethnic. The design was impressive. I was particulary attracted by its big screen wall...More
