The back gates of the Gurong Hotel led directly in to the old town, a maze of streets and many of the local people in their traditional ethnic dress made for a colourful site. There are some quieter side streets and we found Dali Catholic...More

Foreigner Street without foreigner. In my personal opinion is it more a tourist trap. I just go there, when I really have, and then I try to do it in the morning, when it's not so busy.

It's a beautiful place to shop for handmade or typical souvenirs and relax with some amazing Yunnan Coffee.

This is a lot like other streets in old Dali. Perhaps there is a little higher concentration of restaurants and clubs here.

If you don't have time to waste, don't go. There is nothing special about this place, it's just another street in downtown Dali.

I went on a weekday but it's really crowded. Many souvenir/snacks stores around. Personally I think it's worthwhile to grab a few scarfs as souvenirs cos they are inexpensive. However, what I was being told by the locals is that things are more expensive here.
