When arriving to Blaca it seems mostly underwhelming, until walking though the buildings and hearing the excellent history of the place. We had hiked in from the top where we parked the car and did the 2.5 km decent to Blaca. Definitely bring water and...More

We hiked here from the water and it was a fun 45 minute hike each way. Definitely wear sneakers or some sort of hiking boots and bring water. Monastery was beautiful!

An excellent walk down the mountain, fantastic views. The walk down from car park was easy, the uphill walk back up in 30degrees took effort, make sure you take water with you as there are no concessions at the monastery.

We are staying on Hvar. If we take the catamaran to Bol, arriving at 12.30 and leaving at 4 pm, have we time to take the ferry to Blaca Bay, do the hermitage and return in time for the catamaran .

Please don't rush this trip..Leave yourselves plenty of time...as others have said its quite strenuous and best enjoyed with no time constraints.
