We hired a cab driver to take us from Zagreb to Plitvice for the day and he stopped here for us. Interestingly enough, our Segway tour guide Bruno from Zagreb also mentioned this place was worth a visit. Very cool. The destroyed jet was interesting. Not often can you walk up to items in museums. Apparently a lot of these... More

Turanj is a suburb of Karlovac just near the Korana River that played an important role in the Homeland War. Today, you can see an open-air museum with multiple vehicles and planes that were used in the war. Remnants of Austro-Hungarian Barracks are in ruins as a result of the war and remain sentinels to remind viewers of the devastation... More

Positioned very close to the Karlovac-Slunj road, the main motorway used before Croatia built highway to south. You can see the resl Croatiaa armament built and used in Homeland war. Very good collection.

Great restoration of bombed-out buildings and weapons of war. It is all outdoors and set in a scenic place along the Korana River.

Worth the stop! to take some pictures, learn a little bit of modern history, and stretch the legs after a long roadtrip

To give you an overview: the "museum" contains about 15-20 exhibition pieces, including a few tanks and other armoured vehicles, a few cannons/howitzers and a couple of MIGs. In addition there's a couple of information boards telling about the Homeland War. That's it, nothing else. It is an outdoor exhibition on a grassy field with a gravel path. There is... More

Brief stopover on the route from Zagreb to plitvice and a good introduction to the balkan war. Scars from shrapnels are still visible on many buildings nearby. interesting to see how lorries and trucks were improvised to become tanks for the war.

Museum is still under construction, but outside part of museum is open and free for all visitors. It's great to see and experience.
