Plitvicka jezera, Plitvice Lakes National Park 53231, Croatia
This is one of the most amazing places I’ve ever been to. The lakes are incredible blue and beautifully clear. There are lots of wooden walkways that weave in and out of the many waterfalls. It wasn’t too busy when we were there and I’d...More
I am still trying to decide what I think of this national park. Yes, it is beautiful - the location, the waterfalls, the lakes. It's the boardwalk which I didn't expect and the number of visitors means that you form a human snake as you...More
Plitvice National Park is just stunning, despite the high ticket price and in places the overcrowding. The park has an upper and lower part, which can be covered in one day if you use the ferry service and the bus service, so you do not...More
Let’s start with the main attraction which is the nature. It was absolutely magnificent! And to come that close to the lakes and waterfalls as you do is nothing but fantastic. In many places there is a boardwalk built just on top of the water...More
This national park is really impressive. I found that the Upper Lakes are way more beautiful and pleasant to walk than the Lower Lakes. Yet, nothing justifies the absurd price to get in there in July and August, except pure greed. It’s worth it, but...More
Waterfalls, numerous lakes, bendless paths, caves with birds singing and water humming. What else? This place is a natural gem and Croatia should be proud to have it.
On contrary if just focus only on closed full parking lots, 90 miniatures of waiting exposed to the...More
We started at 9.30 after queuing for a ticket. We started with the upper lakes.
It is expensive to get in but once you start walking on the many wooden walk ways you understand why. Some of the crowding mentioned is due to the way...More

Hi, we have visited both, Plitvice and Krka. Honestly, I believe Plitvice is a 'must do'. It is far more impressive than Kkra (which it's highly recommended too). If you plan to visit early September, that should be beyond (very) high season. Even, if it's still crowded then, I think it should be feasible to visit the park in about 4/5 hours. Buying tickets at the office might be the most time consuming. Maybe you can buy these in advance via online?
