Hired cycles from Hotel Lone for the day (£10 for 24 hours....bargain!), and cycled along the route 203 which took us close to the fort. Uphill for around 1km off the main road then a few hundred yards along a decent path, and you are transported back in time. Difficult to appreciate just how old the ruins are. Also, great... More

Prepare to hike because the site itself is located about 1/2 mile from the car park and covers an extensive area. The day of this visit, there was no entrance fee. The site, named after a local fruit from which marmelade is made, is well-labeled with numerous signs featuring texts in several languages with either/or photos, plans, reconstructions so that... This place has to be seen to be believed. The amount of masonry still standing after 3500-4000 years is amazing. The views from the top are the best I've seen in all Istria, a combination of the stunning sea view and the Brijuni islands and the land view of the lush Istrian countryside. The wonderful site speaks of a sophisticated... More

Excellent site with information boards and super views but not signposted off roads so you have to either map read or ask a local for directions, easily accessible via mountain bikes

I had wanted to see this place and it didn't disappoint. I was there on a day which later poured with rain, but the dark looming clouds, and the fact that I was there entirely alone, only added to the atmosphere of the place. Even if you're not particularly interested in ancient hill forts - it's worth coming here for... More

Really nice place to sea, check points on every few miles, not so accessable if you don't have car. Untouched nature. :)

Oldest best and biggest ruins to visit near Rovinj ... We have taken all of our visiting friends from around the world to monkodonja! They all love it! Pro tip: watch sunset from the ruins, the energy felt is quite amazing

In Istra are a lot of remains from past days, but this Bronze age remains are very nice to visit. You can feel the past days. You can feel the people from that age. Go there with bikes or with car, it is very easy access.

I recommend to visit inside as it is very typical of the city architecture. The view on the amphitheater is also superb
