The gate features a splendid Renaissance design. From here, you'll start a wonderful walk through the narrow and lovely streets of the old town. You'll be surrounded... More

Old city entrance. From that point starts the city journey through narrow and old streets of Trogir.

Parked our car at a public carpark along Jadranska Magistrala and walked towards the pedestrianized historic town centre of Trogir. The North Gate (marked as "Land Gate" in some travel guide books) is the entry... More

The North Gate is an entrance to the old city. It really is like walking back in time. The alley ways in Trogir are numerous and full of character. At night, the atmosphere is peaceful and mysterious in one alley and then you turn a corner and you are by a bustling restaurant, another corner and you are by someone's... More

Hopefully St John was able to provide some directions to visitors as its a maze of narrow streets once you pass through the gate.

North Gate is the Land Gate...you will pass through it as you enter the old walled town from the market or the bus station. Rebuilt in the 17th century, it once supported a drawbridge. Look for the statue of the Blessed John of Trogir, one of the town's patron saints. The other entry to town is called the Sea Gate... More

This is a pretty simple utilitarian gate. It's two best features is from the inside there is access to a portion of the town wall and it's too narrow to allow cars into the old town.
