Really cool place to go for a dip. The sunsets here were awesome. The red sun one night was really cool. Went caiman watching here in the evening which we saw some every night as well as snakes.

No discussion thats one of the magic places on earth. Thats why certain people can make a lot of money. But unfortunately not the local people to whose the land once belonged. Tourism in the way its going on there is not responsible at all. All the motorboat traffic disturbs the nature and animals. And thats because the tourists want to see attraction by attraction. No matter what the price is.
Sad about whats going on in cuyabeno I visited the regional manager of the gobierno ambiental. I asked him, about responsible tourism and if cuyabeno will last like it is. He said that he even doesnt knows how it will be in ten years - the situation is out of control!
So think if and with whom you wanna go there... but anyway you will disturb many beeings.

In my reviews on Cuyabeno I raved at the quality of the reserve and claimed it to be the best Amazon Park in the world for its access by plane and road, its price and for having a network of lakes interconnected by beautiful narrow rivers and creeks. Well, the Laguna Grande is the crown jewel of the park. It is requented buy both Amazon Dolphins and Manatee. It teems with wildlife and birds, among which the mysterious Huatzin, Blue and Yellow and regular Macaws, Potoohs (enormous Night Hawk like birds) caymen, howler monkeys in the surrounding forest and the temperature is perfect for taking a dive.

The plants around make it so that the mosquitos can't breed, so you don't have the bug life usually associated with the amazon. Swimming is fun, water is chilly but refreshing, and sunsets were beautiful!

It is a full time play area, we swam in the Laguna, we watched the sunset, we checked out the stars, we saw unbelievable wildlife and we laughed like mad.

This lagoon is massive... Surrounded by the animals, insects, etc of the Cuyabeno Reserve in the Amazon Rainforest.
Beautiful day or night or even better at sunset for a dip.

We loved our whole experience at Nikky Lodge. The colorectal sunset were spectacular. And seeing a huge anaconda as well as caiman and a very tiny boa topped it off. Also the ride back after dark amazed us how they found their way through the many tributaries

One of the best sunsets I’ve been able to witness in my travels! Also a nice way to cool off in after a humid day exploring the forest! Make sure your lodges take you out here! We were with Samona lodge and came out every evening to watch the sunset and have a swim!

We went here under the auspices of our ecolodge, Siona. I never imagined that it is possible to swim in the Amazonian basin.

The chance of swimming in this lagoon in the middle of the Amazon with amazing sunsets, is just one of the great memories we have from our stay at Cuyabeno.

Ciao, volevo chiederti quanto è costato il lodge dove soggiornavate (eventualmente hai contatti da girarmi)? e come siete arrivati da Quito o dalla città più vicina fino al lodge? grazie
