In the middle of Guayaquil in a park which looks ordinary at first you will find many iguanas, walking freely - everywhere. They happily walk slowly around the visitors, in fact so slowly sometimes the local birds are sitting on them.

Of course, for those who've never seen an iguana, it's great. You can even touch them. But it is a good thing they are moving these poor animals to a better place very soon.

We went here and there were a lot of people and there seemed to be too many animals for the small area. Iguanas, turtles and birds vied for space and it seemed a bit cramped for them. We were wondering if all the people were...More

If you want to have a glimpse of prehistoric survivors, this is the place to visit. It's an enclosed park where the iguanas of allí sizes and colours rule. When in Guayaquil it's a must see, especially if you have children with you

The square was just in front of our hotel, so difficult to miss. It was a great joy to see the many (clearly well-fed) iguanas lazing around on the grass and on the trees. More efforts should be made to ensure that visitors comply with...More

The park is next to the cathedral. Iguanas just laying around everywhere. Tons of pigeons too. Take a 10 minute stroll in this small park to see a genuine part of Ecuador.

This is a popular park in Guayaquil- the Iguanas are apparently very happy here as they grow very big. They lay their eggs all in one place and the infertile females destroy most of the eggs out of jealousy so that keeps the population down(this...More

This park was fun. At first we didn't see the iguanas, and then we realized they were everywhere. A must see if you go to Guayaquil.

I'm not sure if iguanas can be over fed, but since they are vegetarian, if you bring treats, fruits and vegetables are best. The signs do ask that the public not feed them, so I am sure that the iguanas won't mind if you... More
