I find that it’s always worth visiting the beautiful places that my country has, enjoying nature and tourist places in Ecuador.
I’m a big fan of knowing places where I can relax so I decided to visit the city of Guayaquil where I visited the "Malecon Simon Bolivar" it is a beautiful place to visit it from start to finish and it was an unforgettable experience since in one place I could enjoy various activities. I was very happy to recreate the view of the Guayas river or walk along the nature of the parks with beautiful trees and plants.
I really liked it because it is nice to go with friends or family as there are distractions for all ages.
Also, I could eat dishes of all tastes, ride the river by boat, and the most beautiful thing was the ride on the ferris wheel called La Perla, which turns slowly and you can enjoy the scenery. On the other hand, I was'not generally a fan of the weather but I really enjoyed its beautiful sunsets.
I definitely recommend taking the time to visit this place if you want to relax for a while because you are really going to enjoy it and you could also, take many photos with your family.

Malecon 2000 is definitely worth a day (or more). Many shops, restaurants and entertainment. You have to go to Mercado del Rio which is actually two large buildings at the end of the walkway containing all types of foods of Equador and other countries (the building at the very end has more variety). The seafood is fantastic. When you enter, just look to the right and there is a restaurant that had a line of people waiting the whole time we were there. You can't miss it. Think of it as a really upscale food court with a dozen or so restaurants with shared seating. You just order at the counters and pick a nice place to sit. You can either sit on the city side or on the river side (Guayas River) which is very interesting. The prices are great for what you get. We each got a seafood plate for about $12 each that we really could have shared. Beer specials are everywhere and 3 for $5 seemed to be the norm. Spend a day on the river-walk and you will not be disappointed.

We visited the Malecon 2000 both days. While hot walking, there are shady spots and air conditioned coffee places. The river is busy, swiftly flowing towards the ocean. Boats keep active hauling tourists and products.
The malecon has children's' amusement rides, statues and history, a Ferris wheel which slowly moves providing a glorious view of the Santa Anna Hill Village. In this village, houses are all brightly painted, turned the hillside community into a riot of gorgeous colour.

Taking into consideration that there's not much to do in Guayaquil, this is a decent way to spend the late afternoon/early evening. There are some good restaurants, shops, and local handcrafts. I was not a fan of the big crowds though, it can get a bit overwhelming after a while.

This is a must visit if you are in Guayaquil. The Malecón has so much to do and see: gardens, shopping, sightseeing, people watching, dining, live entertainment, amusement park rides, museums, and so much more. There is a lot of space so it never feels crowded. These are security guards keeping an eye out for your safety. If you do nothing else on the Malecón, go have a beer or coffee and enjoy the sights.

This riverwalk was a couple of blocks from our hotel and was a good route for getting to various places as well as a fun area on Sunday evening when many locals were out enjoying the evening. We enjoyed 2 meals at the Mercado del Rio eating areas at very reasonable prices and good quality. We felt very safe even after dark.

This is a nice, clean walk overlooking the river/estuary. Flowering plants float along on top of the brown silty water. The malecon has several things that are interesting, including a beautiful, well-maintained garden area, a building full of touristy shops (no bathroom), and a couple of “food courts” that have reasonably priced food — and coffee. Bathrooms are separate from these and cost 10 cents for toilet paper (bring your own and sanitizer). You can start near the Cerro and walk downtown or the reverse. If middle of day, do reverse, since you can end at the museum and cool down. It’s hot!

Malecón 2000 is one of my favorite places in Guayaquil, owing to the different things and activities that I can do there. Going to the Malecón 2000 reminds me my childhood with my cousins, we enjoyed a lot that place, playing, eating, taking photos and running everywhere. There are varieties of local foods that you can visit, even though you do not have enough money, you're going to find cheap dishes there. Most of the people go there since it is a touristic place and because of the Morgan ship, there you can know more the Guayas river.

They have invested quite a bit of money into this riverside promenade, and some parts are nice - the botanical gardens and statues were, to me, the highlights. A nice stroll alongside a swollen, muddy river, with locals walking their kids, an appealing playground for the young ones, and a spattering of western restaurants to dine at. Still, it was just ok to me. Guayaquil is just a stopover on the way to other places.

Malecon Rio Guayas is the promenade area on the banks of the Guayas River. It is 10 minutes away from Iguana Park and is considered an important part of the city’s identity. Here you can find almost everything you expect from a tourist area: a mall, an amusement park, museums, souvenir shops, even green areas where you can feed birds.

There is a statue of a guitar player. Who is it?
Written October 31, 2018
This is a memorial statue to Julio Jaramillo (1935-1976) a popular ecuadorian singer and musician, and he was of course from Guayaquil.

One of the nearest if not the nearest is the Ramada. It's a four-star hotel and many of the rooms have a view of the river. It's close to a museum and the recently inaugurated wheel called La Perla.
The Wyndham is also a great choice. It's a five-star hotel in a privileged section of the riverside where there are several places to go if you are a nite owl.
