As we were told by our guide the area is almost destroyed by tourists, so they had to drive us to a similar location. There are these hills, with crystals, if the light falls in certain angle the sight is amazing! Just dont expect a mountain of crystals.

Before our day trip in black and white deserts Peter briefed us on the crystal mountain and the different geological theories behind it. It was just next to the main road and it was impressive. As this desert was part of a sea one time in history, it seems that there are remains of trees that turned into stone like... More

A spectacular formation of quartz crystals... well, it was once. Sadly these days it seems every passing car stops and hacks a lump off it. Interesting and a well-known landmark for navigation and as a rendezvous but there are far better crystal formations out in the desert - so let the trippers desecrate this one and keep the rest quiet!

Being in the Crystal Desert, surrounded by the quartz and the ancient fossilized black coral, is a once in a lifetime experience. Mesmerizing and memorable.

Didn't expect that much, but it was really incredible. You could probably spend a while there just looking at all the rocks... I'm really glad we went.

A beautiful stop that is part of a larger desert trip. Plan to spend an hour here before sunset so you can hold the beautiful rocks up to the sun and see them properly.

…ask a German! After reading his work (to b14643.de/Sahara/Crystal-Mountain/index.htm) this structure seems to me much more impressive than a simple aesthetic pleasure. This attraction is a very beautiful connection between the Black Desert and White Desert. The driver, Mahmud, gave us a bonus, some distance away he showed us another interesting rock formation.
