Had Mass at this wonderful church in Suchitoto. Located beside the Park, its Colonial style is very nice. Well preserved and maintained. A true gem in Suchitoto.

The Santa Lucia Church is an amazing architecture built around 1853, it has a dome with attached cuisine dishes donated by a couple who got married in this temple (as the story tells us). Easter and Christmas time are very solemn, so if you visit Suchitoto, don´t miss the Santa Lucia Church.

The Spanish architecture of this church is lovely, especially when hit by the glow of the setting sun across the Plaza de San Martin. The facade has undergone restoration, but if you walk around it you'll see how old it really is. The inside (open only limited hours around Mass schedules) is almost all wood, very faded and dilapidated, but at the same time beautiful. There is almost always music playing, combined with the chatter of the many birds that fly in and out, and almost no outside noises make it through the thick walls. It's a very spiritual space; I could sit quietly on a pew for ages. Signs at the door remind us to please show respect for the fact that it is a church... refrain from flash photography and wandering around during services!

Lovely church with a good atmosphere, wooden pillars which is quite Unique and makes it give a Nice look. Good place to pray, or in my atheïst case: sit down for a moment and close your eyes and think about life

While you won't spend much time at this church, it is a necessary stop on your trip through Suchitoto. Allot time to enjoy the surrounding square where local artisans and vendors sell beautiful handcrafted products and delicious sweets. Make sure you employ a tour guide so that you can really appreciate the history.

The gem on the central plaza, a quiet and quaint church which is very colonial in its style and reminiscent of Spain and half of Europe some 500 plus years ago. Happily spent half an hour just relaxing and reading my guide book without being disturbed or asked to move on or buy some tourist 'tat'

The church has been rehabbed with support from the Spanish government. The results are very impressive. The woodwork really stands out. A lot of it is intricately designed and is original.
A must-see sight if you’re in Suchitoto.
