We were disappointed that these ruins were secondary to the rebuilt Church on the site. The monolithic under construction new St Clements University buildings completely overshadowed this important historic site. For some reason signage had not been thought of by the powers that be

This place has an interesting history. But if you are not into it, you should visit Plaoshnik anyway, because you will feel the energy of it there. I've been there in the late evening, when sun almost was under the horizon, and this place turned into some magical monastery. During the day you can visit the building, but they are... More

It's a holy and archaeological place, a must see in Ohrid. The church was built in the 9th century on the foundation of an early Christian basilica. St. Clement was buried in this monastery, in the tomb which was built by his own hands. You can also see the mosaic floors which date from the period between 4th and 6th... More

This place is in the process of renovation, rebuilding and building. That makes not a very best impression when You visiting. Hardly find a place to make a pic, without construction. Also, have to be mentioned, that all of this place is rebuild from 0 and is not authentic.

Very nice place to visit. Entrance is free of charge and inside You can buy candles and light them. Also the outside of the building is pretty amazing and the view over the lake from here is unbelievable. We took some time just to sit outside the church and just enjoy the view.

Lovely place - full of history and outstanding view over the Ohrid lake. Indeed, it was extremely interesting to see this ancient building from St. Kliment's and St Naum's times and this kind of university that brought, together with Preslav school, the enlightenment in the Slavic World. I would appreciate if more info could be exposed for visitors about the... More

Plaošnik is an archaeological site close to Samuel's Fortress and is overlooked by St Clements Church. The site is hugely significant as there are many interesting discoveries from the past. The baptistery within the complex has intricate mosaic floors, unfortunately alot of the relics have been lost over time but in the future the site is planning to have konaks,... More
