The property is unique to Roatan. Just off the main road to a private beach area. This area is part of the Roatan Marine Park preserve. The reef system parallels the white sand beach of Sandy Bay The closiest swim to a underwater ecologial paradise teaming with tropical fish and corals. This area is a quiet tranquil area of Roatan without high end hotels and condos but close to the tourist meccas.

Great quiet beach to walk

Nice beach to walk. Lots of birds to see and often saw schools of bone fish too. Turtle grass so no easy to wade out for a swim.

Having gotten to visit many of the world's amazing beaches from Hua Hin & Koh Samui in Thailand to Panama City Beach, Florida; Waikiki,Hawaii; to several Tahitian islands... this is the one we selected to call home. Coupled with easy access to the USA, it has a wonderful mix of local kids playing, dive & snorkel boats out on the... More

I'm biased since I live in Sandy Bay. I really enjoy watching the improvements occurring here. At one time the beach was only cleaned in certain spots by individual owners. Today, the municipal is participating in cleaning the beach and starting work on much needed roads through our community. This is a beautiful part of the island with many amazing... More

We stayed at a local AirBnB, Casa Argenta, right on the beach. Absolutely loved this area and all it had to offer. Tons of local diveshops, decent snorkeling right off the beach, plenty of restaurants right on the beach within walking distance of any where. Really recommend the Sandy Bay area, and we didn't even get to enjoy all it... More

We have stayed in West Bay for the 2 times we've been on the island because of activities and shops/restaurants nearby. But we liked the look of this area and thought to investigate more as the beach would be less crowded with cruiseship passengers.

We are staying in Sandy Bay at Rock Poiny Villa's for 3 months, and have to admit that the beach is very nice. Very quite there and not alot of boat traffic. The reef is very close and easy access, great snorkeling. The nice part about Sandy Bay is you are half way to West End and half way to... More

It's a long swim to the reef but we did it. The next time we used an inflatable kayak and anchored to a snorkeling buoy. Once there it was great! There were no waves or current so we could leisurely explore the island side of the reef.
