We chose this as an excursion from the Oosterdam the week before Christmas. It was a rainy day and we all were given the option of staying on the bus or going. As we had already paid for the excursion of course we got the umbrellas and put the rain jackets on and headed for the butterflies. When one thinks... More

Good place, the best part are the monkeys. Not that much butterflies to see and it's kinda informative.

This was a fun place to visit. Lots of butterflies and good photo opportunities. Also, the other animals in the park are a load of fun. You can hold monkeys, kopi luwaks, and agoutis. Loved this park - probably my favourite stop on Roatan.

Wonderful guy that took us through the garden! Lots of beautiful butterflies, and a lot of information about their speedier reproduction process and lifespan. Thank you!! :)

The native animals that you get to see up close and even hold some is great. The white faced monkeys were so tame they would climb onto your shoulders for nuts. We even held a kinkajou.

Our visit for was very informative and enjoyable. We particularly liked the fact that those animal in cages had the doors left open at night so that they could return to the wild, and then came back to the park when they wanted to. We saw one enclosure with a monkey like creature which normally held five animals but only... More

We had a very knowledgeable guide named José who really loved his job. We were able to hold the toucans/parrots, see monkeys and Mayan stone carvings. Then we went to the butterfly section which was also interesting. Good idea to use bug spray here.

My husband and I wanted to see the "Roatan Butterfly Gardens" in West End last week (to be precise: On February the 23rd, 2016). Unfortunately, we got the impression, that this garden is no longer existing, or at least not at the place in West End that, for example, Tripadvisor or google would suggest. The in guide books promised "huge... More

The butterfly part was nice but the cages for other animals were small, concrete and not much to engage with. The monkeys seemed to enjoy running about free but weren't happy when grabbed for photos. With some improvements for the animals this could be a lovely little place.
