Amritsar is a city in the northwestern Indian state of Punjab, 28 kilometers from the border with Pakistan. At the center of its walled old town, the gilded Golden Temple (Harmandir Sahib) is the holiest gurdwara (religious complex) of the Sikh religion. It’s at the end of a causeway, surrounded by the sacred Amrit Sarovar tank (lake), where pilgrims bathe.
A Place of serenity calmness and peace, Amritsar has a lot to offer to all big and small, if you are a tourist or a traveler you are in the right place. cool weather conditions in winters foggy atmosphere a the peaceful surroundings. The real village feels or the city feels both are found here. the people are more the lovely towards visitors and the food, words are not enough to describe it. A place full of beautiful monuments and places.
The golden temple on of the most iconic temples of the Sikh community is true masterpiece.
Sitting the the area of the golden temple is blessing and having the kada Prasad and the langar distributed is heavenly.

I did a last minute food tour with Amritsar Walks and my guide Simrat. It was everything i could have asked for and more.
Started off with a guide to the Golden Temple and then walked through the bizaars and streets of Amritsar trying countless dishes and treats. Everything was covered that i could have wanted and Simrat was excellent and informaitive comapny for the evening.
Highly recommended.

Essence of the religion with the monumental beauty. This is what Amritsar is all about. A perfect blend of the modern as well as the era of the mughals and the sikh emperors that ruled the city.
