Walking here from our Ramada Hotel, this is the 1st tourist sight along the new Heritage Street. The large tranquil 1588 Holy Pool has a Shrine from 1855 along its side. We mounted the stairs to visit the inner temple.

Santikhsar sahib is a gurudawara situated right in the center of the city. Unlike all the Indian temples you will never find any beggar in front of any gurudawara ever. It is famous more because of the pool which was constructed under the supervision of Guru Arjun Dev himself.

One of five historic sarovar constructed by Guru Arjun Dev. A yogi was found mediating when this place was dug for sarovar. Yogi disclosed his name as Santkha and then breathed his last. Okay, it is no where near as impressive as the golden temple, but this is still a beautiful and peaceful place. Same rules apply as the ones in the golden temple (no shoes + head cover), and this is also doesn't require payment for entry.
