It was a office weekend trip to Keoladeo National Park. We were 17 people in the group. I found the place so serene and calm, forest and birds all around wherever you see. The chirping of Birds was so mesmerizing to listen that nobody could move without resting for a moment. There was a point or you can say a... More

We splashed out on a "naturalist "..keen to point out not a guide. Who was well worth the investment as we are not hard core Birders. The keen eyed naturalist with binoculars and telescope was able to help us to get a proper look at a water snake eating a frog , jackals, blubuls, storks, monitor lizard, owls, egrets, ibis,... Allot a full day for this place.... Rent a cycle if possible because the rikshaw fares are very high and they charge w.r.t. time... (Oh yes they drive verryyyyyyyy slowly too) so grab a cycle and enjoy on your own.... Binoculars are must !!!

Known for the nesting and breeding of Siberian cranes, Keoladeo National Park has gained popularity for a wide range of birds. During season one can see painted storks, pelicans, sauras cranes, rudy shell ducks, brahmini ducks, moor hens, to name a few. The park is open through out the year from sunrise to sunset. The cycle rickshaws charge 100 rupees... More

The park is extensive in size. Suggest bicycle hire else rickshaws will cost a lot more, and in places you can only go on foot or bicycle anyway. The guide was very knowledgeable but was pushing for more money at the end of the tour (guide prices are fixed and advertised so should be no problems) and he wanted 200... More

At Rs. 500 per for a foreigner person this is quite an expensive visit already. We have made the mistake of taking a guide at an additional RS. 250 per hour and felt a bit ripped off, he showed us a parakeet and a duck via some spectacular binoculars but we didn't feel we saw anything more interesting than that... We spent a day here on foot. We had intended to hire a guide for a couple of hours but were told it was all day or nothing so we chose to go alone. As it turned out other bird-watchers and cycle rickshaw drivers were very generous pointing out and identifying birds for us. There's a huge range from passerines... More

It was a good trip, but as we went in afternoon it was very difficult for ous to know about any bird, you must hire a guide. If you are in group u must hire bicycle otherwise you cn have rickshaws
