The bridge comes on the way to Rameshwaram. If you are going by road you will see the bridge, which is a single line rail bridge from the road bridge or Indira Gandhi bridge.
Its long, and due to tourists parking on the bridge for view and photo, its crowded.

The Pamban road bridge runs in parallel with the Pamban train bridge. A walk along this magnificent bridge as well as a train ride on the train bridge are mind-blowing experiences. The shallow and crystal clear waters, blue sky and fast-blowing wind make you feel like you are one with the elements which is incredibly exciting. The road bridge is still much higher than the train bridge. If you take the train, you will be able to see the waters very close. The train goes very slowly during the stretch when it is above water and you will appreciate the beauty of the waves and the beauty of engineering.

It's quite unimaginable as it is being erected above the Bay of Bengal in the bygone yesteryears where the technology has not been much developed. It can be viewed from the Indira Gandhi Road bridge. Train services are available from many towns in Tamil Nadu. So pre plan and book your train tickets so that you can have a memorable journey on the railway bridge above a sea.

Finest work of Engineering. At a time this bridge surely was an Engineering marvel as it connect the town of Rameshwaram to mainland India. It has survived a cyclonic storm of 1962. The water below it is so crystal clear. The view is just great and one should visit this place. Travel through rail bridge as well as road bridge

Excellent but Railway track seems dangerous. The Bridge is on sea . There are two operational bridges - one for Train which is old and operational. second is road bridge and third is new railway bridge under construction. Old bridge of Train line , is being opened by six persons in case of Ship movement, which later on jointed like Hawra bridge. Good to stay some time on road bridge during visit to Rameshwaram. .

Spectacular view of blending turquoise blue Mara with sky. We observed a huge complete rainbow across the bridge.

Safety
Be careful while on the bridge. Stop the vehicle only on designated spots. Avoid crossing the road considering the speeding vehicle.

This bridge was built in 1914 to connect the island town on Rameshwaram to mainland town of Mandapam. It opens midway to let the ships pass. If you happen to be there when the bridge opens up, you can see it from the road bridge built along side the railway bridge.

The Pamban bridge connects the island of Rameswaram to mainland India. It is a railway bridge.

You can stop on the road bridge (Annai Indira Gandhi Road Bridge) and take pics. The views are lovely - both sides water.
