Kantiang Bay can be found towards the south of the island on Ko Lanta's west coast. The Bay is a little-known, beach-lover's haven where you can truly relax and soak up the sunshine and beach-life of an island paradise. There's plenty of things to do - live a castaway dream, paddle in the warm, crystal-clear waters of the Andaman Sea, learn to scuba dive, or just make Kantiang Bay your sun-kissed home for a while.

Kantaing Bay is a nice, quiet bay to lay in the sun and watch the day go by. The southern half of the bay has good swimming and Same Same but different is there for some shade and an ice cold drink.

We spent 5 weeks traveling Thailand and this was my favorite beach by far. The right hand side has a bar called “why not” which is one of those weird hippie bars, so if you’re into high priced food and drinks just for the hippie...More

One of main beach, maybe the most luxury 5s resorts there, but with nice, traditional and well priced beach-bars, also. Cute lanterns over the beach! Pretty clean, but many dead leafs on the sand. No rocks into the water. A wide range offer to drink,...More

Great beach, good restaurants and bars with nice atmosphere. Not too busy either so we loved it. The Why Not Bar was our favorite and Christmas Eve was a great night.

Volunteer to walk a pup with Lanta Animal Welfare from 9-11 or 3-5 and they may send you over to this beach. More of a relaxing beach than a swimming beach. Lots of longtail fishing boats along the side, and through the bushes to the...More

Of the southern beaches, Kantiang Bay is the most popular and the sea gently enters the bay. As we went there late evening and during off season we could hear the waves hitting the shoreline. It offers the best choice of accommodation - from backpacker...More

This beach is more beautiful than Kling Nin and is calmer (general rule in Lanta is the more south you go the calmer it gets). Why not bar is cool, they have live music and fire shows. Restaurants on the beach are a bit pricey,...More

There are several daytrips boats which can take you to other islands from Kantiang Bay. We stopped for a short dive at Ko Ngai, and got off at Ko Muk before the boat continued to Ko Kradan. Just ask at the hotel.
