Impressive cave for the adventures person
Feb. 2020 • Couples
Expect a workout, you will sweat from the inclination during tracking through the woods and inside the cave (30min to cave,1h in cave and 30 min back). Wear appropriate clothes, sneakers or tight fitting shoes with good grip, no flip-flops. Entrance fee + guide 300thb/person. Inside the cave there are a few glimmering limestone formations, bats and spiders. But the cave in itself is impressive with its more horizontal formation. There are quite a few ladders inside, with 40-50cm between steps. However the ladders are sturdy, even for a 95kg person. In the end you will need to walk on all fours to get out. So this is an experience for the more adventures person but worth trying if you want to do something different. I have never experienced something similar before, even if I have been into a handful different limestone caves in my life. Our guide did not speak much (no safety instructions etc. but what should you expect in Thailand?), he was more of the “show the way and point out”-type. But my feeling was that he understood me quite well and even if he answered in a simple way he answered my questions, so I was satisfied.

Nice cave but bad guide
Feb. 2020 • Friends
The cave was so impressionive, definetely go.. The guide did not speak a Word english. So of course there was no safety instructions or instructions what so ever. Our Group of people felled back and lost track of the others and went the wrong way! When our guide found us, a Guy and hes son had already decided to go back because, it was not a cave for a 5 year old kid! The guide could not tell anything about the cave, but only point at thinks. I dont think he liked hes job either.. So.. The cave was good, but I believe they should hire or update a qualified guide, I am sure that cave has a lot of stores to be told. Og yea, and.. Dont were flip flaps, you will regret.

It's amazing!! But you can not use flip-flops or sandals! Go with shoes. And be aware with the spiders!

Super nice gentle caving activity
Feb. 2019
Khao Mai Kaew Cave is supposedly the largest cave system in Koh Lanta. A short trek through the bird sound filled tropical forest led us into the unassuming crack in the hillside. What followed then is the eery silence interrupted only by water dripping from the sharp stalactites onto the blunt stalagmites. Irregular tunnels, triangular ceilings, ponds, and the most amazing contoured walls. And spiders. And bats. Some openings were small to squeeze through, some ceilings too low so crawling only forward or back the same way for the claustrophobic ones. A very nice and gentle caving activity.

Amazing Cave Adventure
Jul. 2019 • Couples
This is one of the best experiences in Koh Lanta. Our guide was great and showed us all the tricky spots. I would suggest you be in decent shape for this. There are some very tight spots and it is somewhat challenging. It is a great trek through the jungle and the cave is seriously impressive; spiders, bats, crickets and impressive cave formations. Just awesome!

Great experience!

We took the scooter to the base of the cave tour. I guess we were lucky that a tour started a few minutes after our arrival in the late morning. The guide was not explaining anything he was just showing us the way. We were a group of 6 people with different walking speeds but he made sure that we stayed together.
The walk to the cave is a bit challenging especially because of the heat and the climbing. The walk in the cave is not easy. It's humid, slippery, narrow and dark. But so much fun! If you like a little adventure and you are not afraid of spiders or bats you should do it. There was a big guy and an older man in our group and they could do it too. Just bring water and sneakers instead of flip flops.

Thrilling & not too scary
Jan. 2019 • Couples
I’m not the biggest daredevil and I thought it would be scary but ‘thrilling’ is the right word. You’re just very focused for a few hours and it’s a good work out. Skip lying on the beach for a few hours and do this!

Insane day
Dec. 2018 • Solo
This cave trip is incredible. It's a 30 minute hike, followed by a 1 hour caving experience, and then a 30 minute hike home. Take water, wear comfortable shoes and just do it!! It adds a whole new dimension to Ko Lanta beyond its beautiful scenery and sunsets

Do something different
Jul. 2018 • Family
Take a hike through the jungle for about 30mins and then into the cave for an hour. We were limited on time but the tour guide was nice enough to speed up the cave trekking. Saw bats and a scary big spider. Worth it.

A have to do attraction !!
Apr. 2018 • Couples
We just came back from a visit to this cave.

We drove to it with our own bike, the signs are very clear to follow.
Once arrived we got greeted by one of the guides. The entrance was 300thb per person.
We started our trip and had a walked up to the cave. The climb is challenging and you need to be a bit fit to reach the entrance of the cave. The tour is the cave was awesome !! A bit scary in the beginning, but it was a great experience.

The tour guide gives you a torch and takes you all the way down in the cave.
The paths are narrow and slippery. So make sure you are not too big, otherwise, you will get stuck.

A piece of advice is to wear loose clothes that you are not afraid to get dirty and proper shoes. Don't go with flipflops !!!

Highly recommended !!
