About
Koh Talabeng (Talabeng Island)Talabeng is an old large rock island off the east coast of Koh Lanta Noi. About 40 Minutes from Lanta Yai on a chartered longtail boat, this is a well-known kayaking area among tourists due to the still current. Two huge rocks stand more than 70 meters high and tower over the surface like large giants protecting a treasure make up Talabeng Island.

This trip is the best trip I’ve done, hands down.
It’s incredibly well organised and it really feels like you’re being let into a well kept secret.
You will see amazing beautiful places that are not covered in tourists and require a little bit of adventure to get to.
The owner / guide forest (farid) ...sorry if I got your name wrong....is exceptional. So so knowledgeable and incredibly funny! He really really helped get the whole group to push themselves and have a good time.
I highly recommend this trip!

Great day trip with a good mix of ‘action’ and relaxation.
Not a lot of details given for the tour, so here are the itinerary and tips:
Take: swimwear, towel, sun cream, dry bag for your phone so you can take photos from kayak, footwear for climbing that you don’t mind getting dirty (you can’t do it in sandals and I saw some people barefoot - I wouldn’t fancy it as the rock climb has sharp rocks!)
1) picked up in Koh Lanta and take a ~40 min drive out to the start point. You’ll be sat outside for the journey so put sun screen on before you go.
2) 30 min boat trip to ‘skull island’ followed by ~45 mins of physical activity. The climb isn’t too demanding but some tough bits some people may be uncomfortable with, but it’s worth it and Farid makes it great fun.
3) Jump into kayaks for 30 min kayak to beach, where you’ll have lunch and probably meet some local hairy friends! Beach time circa 45 mins and a great spot for some photos.
4) another 30 min kayak where you’ll meet more hairy friends and probably spot some scaly ones too. We got super close to all the wildlife on the kayak and was amazing to see up close and personal.
5) boat trip and car ride back to your hotel.
The whole day was a lot of fun, Farid brings the energy and was definitely a great value for money day trip and he’ll have you home in plenty of time for sundowners. Recommended.

Faris is an excellent guide! I rode with him in the car cab and he is so interesting and has lots to share on his life and Thailand. He made the whole trip so much fun... I came away thinking that he could make me believe I can do anything, because he emanates positivity.
Practically, the trip is a great day out. The first stop to explore the cave is really fun and such a cool place. The climbs are worth it but take the previous advice and go in trainers or sandals that fasten, I don't think they would allow anyone to attempt this in flip flops and the inside of the cave will be painful to bare feet.
After the cave you kayak for about 30 minutes before lunch on a small island with beautiful views and monkeys! Lunch was delicious curry and a vegetarian option is available. Another 45 minutes Kayaking and you visit another cave, then it's back on the boat and 20 mins back to shore.
Brilliant day out with a fabulous guide. Recommend!

It was one of the best local experiences we had so far during our stay in Thailand. The guide (Farid) was full of energy and beams of positivity.
It was a fun day filled with exploring caves, rock climbing and kayaking.
The lunch cooked from Farid's wife was divine and very tasteful.
A day well spent for good value of money.

absolutely loved this trip! faris, the guide, was so encouraging, accommodating, helpful and patient during the rock climbing at Koh Phee, and was so funny and patient during the kayaking trip. he would point out the fauna around Talabeng island, and educated us on the history of Koh Phee and Talabeng. his wife prepared us lunch for when we’re out kayaking at Talabeng, and it was such a homely meal.
definitely a must-do while you’re in Koh Lanta! a good activity to do with the family, friends and even business colleagues! you’ll definitely enjoy yourself :”)

An absolute adventure. Me and my wife have been honeymooning all over Thailand for the past 2 weeks doing a TON of stuff, and this was one of the coolest experiences we've had so far. The owner / guide was so entertaining and funny, skull island was absolutely mind blowing and climbing around in it was more of a challenge than I expected which is good! And the kayaking was gorgeous. He would stop in these beautiful bays and serenade us with songs sometimes which made for these really neat calming beautiful moments. The spot we stopped at for lunch had views that were surreal with monkeys all over, and the food was hand crafted home cooking from his wife and easily one of the best meals I've had in all of Thailand so far. He took great care of us - I actually hurt my ankle climbing back into the boat on the ride back and he even massaged my foot the whole ride back. 100 thousand percent recommend this tour!

During our stay in Koh Lanta, we wanted to do a day trip whilst spending 10 days working on this beautiful island. I was reluctant to take part in this tour as I'm a bit of a chicken when it comes to the 'adventurous world,' however after some convincing by my partner, we decided to go for it.
From the moment our guide (Farris) met us in the hotel lobby, greeting us with an incredibly warm and kind small, to the very end of the day with his 'easy banana' talk, it's truly been a tour of a lifetime, and one which we'll never forget.
The hardest part of the tour for me (I'm an athletic 31 year old girl) was without a doubt exploring skull cave. You'll need to enter the cave via a ladder of car tyres hung together by a rope, along with various other rope navigation pathways throughout. If you haven't done any climbing before, you might struggle but Farris was always there to help. Please ensure you wear appropriate footwear, ie no flip flops!
The kayaking around Koh Talabeng was sensational. The area is so untouched and we, along with two others on the tour and Farris were the only ones there. There's something so special about visiting places without a huge mass of tourists. Just wow! The sea is so warm with many little fish swimming around you, along with some friendly Monitor Lizards and the islands monkeys (who are friendly and won't bother you)
The homecooked lunch of massaman curry with vegetables was delicious along with the fresh watermelon and pineapple.
Thank you, Farris. You've pushed me out of my comfort zone and today has made me believe that I am stronger than I think and will continue to do more things that push me more and more.
I wish you all the success in the world and hope you continue to spread love and cheer to others :)

Really incredible your beating all expectations.
The guide & owner Forest is just a pleasure to explore with and really makes the whole experience more fun.
Climbing around Ghost Island is superrrrrr cool and you need to be a little bit athletic for it. Recommend something more secure than flip flops for this too.
Kayaking is pretty leisurely and getting to swim during lunch is great.
Dreamy place and amazing guide.
Had food prepared for lunch and it included an option for veggie people.

We have been coming to Thailand for 12 years and this was the best tour we have ever done! The cave at Koh Phee was incredible - challenging climbing for most, but when you get to the top, explore the many caverns, and see the views, it is unquestionably worth it! Honestly, spectacular.
Kayaking around the islands and the mangroves, seeing the monkeys and even the lunch - was all perfect. We had the best time.
Farris is the perfect host, the ultimate tour guide. He is hilarious and entertaining, knowledge and very generous with his time. Ensuring to help everyone get the best photos, and he is a great photographer too. He even sung us Thai songs! When he sung us a sea shanty, while we drifted in silence around a hidden lagoon, it was such a beautiful moment we will remember it forever.
We cannot recommend his tour enough! Thank you Farris for such a fantastic experience, we can't wait to come back next year!

Hello I am hoping to go to Koh Lanta in March and hopefully do this trip. What area of the island ie- what beach should I stay on if I want to do this trip? Or is it something that can be done from anywhere on koh Lanta? Also we are hoping to have beach massages if anyone could recommend a good area of the island to stay? We are looking for a more luxurious hotel more so than budget with a nice pool and air con- as we are doing budget on other areas of Thailand. many thanks

I'm just asking you if you are sure to have used Ko Talabeng sea Kayaking company, because I use this company in my place and I went to this tour several times with some customers and everything was perfect... There are different company making this tour and I know that not all of them are the same... just FYI before write a review you must be sure if you write it about the right company.
