During a motorcycle trip around the Island I visited all the beaches. While some were more private, Haad Yao Beach was my favorite. It's clean clean clean, no trash, no debris. There are several places to stay, my favorite is Sandy Bay Bungalows as they have the best location on the beach. There are several restaraunts up and down the... More

Amongst the best beaches on the island. Nice clean with great sand and good for a swim! The restaurants on the beach are also nice.

Essentially I want water that's clear and deep enough to swim in, this offered neither, with litter and debris washed up on the beach it was basically very disappointing!

This beach has some very nice cosy beach restaurants on the sand. They are lighted in evenings. This was one of our best beach experiences here.

We stayed here by chance 8 years ago and had the opportunity to go for a few days. Gorgeous, unfortunalty no where to rent snorkelling equipment, is was the best place we had ever snorkelled. So bring your own if going.

Haad Yao beach is absolutely the most charming beach in the Island if not the most. I got lucky that I booked a property near this beach otherwise I would never know about the existence of such a nice beach. White sandy beach with minimum waves make it a perfect place to just walk around or spend lazy time. It... More

A cute litle beach. There's is not much waves, water's really quiet. I liked going to see the sunset.

Haad Yao Beach is a very pleasant beach for swimming and is ideally suited to families. There is no shortage of places to buy drinks or snacks so plan any toileting needs around these as public toilets are non-existent, and private pay to use ones just as rare. Haad Yao is infrequently busy simply due to easy public access being... More

This was the beach closest to our hostel (Shiralea). It was super quiet, maybe only 10 other people on the beach at any time. Lined mostly with resorts, some restaurants, and a couple massage stands, this was a nice place to just relax and enjoy the water. It's also on the west side of the island, so it has the... More

Somewhat secluded from most of the towns on the island is this great beach. Great views and you have several bars around where you can hang out for shade and drinks.
