We were only able to take a day trip out to the Similan Islands, but it was well worth the trip. The speedboat ride is a little long, but upon arrival everything was worth it. We were able to enjoy some snorkeling with schools of fish, even found a moray eel during the first stop. Sail rock is a fun,... More

We visited Island #8 (I think) as a part of a 3 day / 3 night SCUBA liveaboard. This was a quick stop after a morning dive and worth a look. We climbed to the top of Sail Rock and took a couple of panoramas before heading back out for diving. It was lovely from the top. But, below, meh.... More

I joined a dive crouse tour during May 1st - 6th hosted by Khaolack Scuba Adventures. This trip was the last one of this season. Corals were not so good, but a huge amount of tropical fish with clear blue water was breathtakinkg. I landed Similan island #8 (Kho Similan) in the National park.

Its seems that no matter which company all reviews are the same. This trip was done at the start of March and will be remembered for all the wrong reasons. Overpriced, massive crowds, poor food, service and information about the area and its significance. This is a listed National Park and is not protected from the marauding crowds. The funny... More

Beautiful surroundings but you suddenly realize you became part of an industrial complex. We arrived there, island no. 4, first boat in the morning. Instructions to walk barefoot, not to smoke, not to pick up or let down anything made sense. Than you start to walk up hill, Donald Duck rock and you start to realize that many people don't... More

+ Beautiful nature, crystal clear water - Unbelievable amount of tourists destroys the image - Not as good snorkling as it says. Corals dead, not many fish

We did the Similian Islands day tour and it was very typical of tours. You are in paradise but with many other people. You then only have a short time to go off on your own before you are whisked away to another Island. If you can afford a private charter, which I can’t, that would be the way to... More

So second visit. Quite busy, but only during the daytime. If you're there overnight it's very peaceful. The islands are very beautiful. Huge granite boulders tumbling into the sea, very much like the Seychelles. Lovely beaches, but crowded with day trippers during sun up. I have to say that I was a little disappointed with the diving this time. There... More

It is a beautiful island with soft sand and crystal clear water. But the day tour only allows short period of time to spend. So take your time and stay the night there might if you just want to relax in a beautiful place. Diving socks are recommended as some of the small stones have shape edges. Have fun :)

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this trip to anyone. It is an over-rated money-spinning trip. Way too many visitors for such a small island. Number of boats/visitors should be restricted in order to fully appreciate the islands beauty. We were warned that the island (Honeymoon bay) can get very busy. Very busy was an understatement, our guide referred to it as... More
