The first day we were here we tried to get down to Shark Bay, but were dissuaded by the security guards of the big fancy resort. However, we went back and tried again, this time driving past the first guarded entry, then drove a ways further along til there's a little guard shack on the right side of the road.... More

Private beach for Haad Tien Resort guest. This is a beautiful bay. The water is clear. You may see small fishes here.

excellent clean beaches, chilled out vibe, and quite a few hotels, though most hotels are quite expensive. Its a good place to come, just for a couple of hours if all you wanna do is lay on the beach

Many top quality hotels, resorts, and restaurants. Unfortunately the beach is private access to Haad Tien clients only. But if you are, it is well worth it.

Beautiful beach, clear water, nice palm trees. Getting there is tricky, because probably the only access is through private area of Haadtien Beach Resort (which is right next to the beach). Worth visiting, though.

The beach is stunning, huge resort just behind it is not. Getting there might be tricky since they claim its private, its worth for sunbathing. The water tends to be shallow, the reef is destroyed in many places, but its a good spot for snorkeling anyway. White tip sharks!

Located on the southern end of Ko Tao, this is a lovely small bay with fine white sand and crystal clear water. Reef sharks can be seen when snorkeling at the eastern side of the bay, quite special! In the shallow parts, coral is badly damaged, a bit deeper you see some better preserved coral formations, but nothing spectacular. Nice... More

Having been to all the beaches on the island, I think that this is one of the bests to visit. Well worth a visit.

This must be one of the most beautiful of all the beaches on Koh Tao. Unfortunately not readily accessible unless you're staying at a resort in the bay. Great snorkeling.

My friends and I excited biked to Thian Og Bay on a hot tip that we could see Black Tip Reef Sharks. They're only about 1m long - so no danger - but we saw 3 or 4 in total whilst snorkelling to the left of the bay when looking from the beach. One of the highlights of Thailand for... More
