It is a great national park with camping and hot springs as well as waterfalls. The park is many square kilometres. I talked to manager of park and found him very informative and friendly. There are tent, sleeping bags and mats for rent and also many bungalows spread over the park for rent and a small hotel also. Many food options, souvenirs and a restaurant available. We stayed 4 days on a business retreat. Great experience.

It’s unbelievable how every national place of Thailand had become somewhat of their income they turn somthing natural and beautiful place into somthing profitable I am not stingy I don’t mind paying but it’s really frustrating that foreigners have to pay 10x times more then thai people 20baht for Thai 200 for falang this I couldn’t accept so I ended up turning around would not recommend

The area around Chae Hom and Chae Son is packed with hidden gems. Crystal caves, mountain top temples, amazing mountain roads, deserted crystal clear lakes teeming with fish, and great coffee from the local hill tribes despite it being close to one of the biggest zip lines. The national park is one of the best I have visited. Easy access to the waterfalls, great massage next to the river, and the least spoiled hot springs that I have seen. There are some great walks if you are up for trekking. There are few guides that take in this area. Good. Keep it that way. Don't try the mountain pass from Chiang Mai to Chae Son unless you are experienced on mountain roads. The whole area knocks the attractions of Pai into a cocked hat...

Sits in the one of the national park, this place is lovely, authentic and very calming. Best for relaxing in the natural environment where the authority did their best to keep it well-contained and clean. The food, the eggs and services were very cheap and the quality proceeded the price. Plenty of parking spaces, hot-water spa, hot-water pool and many spectacular sight of natural hot springs where you could easily buy and boil your own.

There were plenty of many services such as an information centre, Camping sites which best visited in winter, cabins for family and traditional massage parlors. Chae Son water fall is only about 1 km away and the trekking way was stunningly beautiful. You could easily drive to Chae Son National Park by your own car as the route is not really steep nor difficult to drive and it is only about 30 minutes from Lampang City.

Best place to visit and relax a bit from your hard-long day of work. Must visit!

I have been to Thailand over ten times since I retired from the US Air Force in Jan. 1975 after serving a year at U-Tapao AFB. I married a gal from Lampang which is about 60 mi. south of CheSon Nat. Park. I never go to Che Son less than four times during my visits to Thailand. The beautiful waterfall, streams, mineral water baths will be the most gratifying experience that you will ever have. Don't forget to have lunch near the entrance "check out their chicken. The wifes nephew designed the bridges that cross the streams, the railings look like wood but are concrete. It may be my last trip (Jan.-Feb. 2015) to Che Son but it will always be in my thoughts. Enjoy it if you ever get there.

My Thai friends took me for the day to this National Park - it was one of highlights of my trip. Driving into the National Park we passed through a teak forest - which was unlike any other kind of forest I'd seen before. Very straight trunks, lots of space/light between trees and huge kind of gangly leaves (like a sycamore tree). The hot springs were beautiful and there is one large area for walking on stones amidst the hot waters (no sitting in them here) - surrounded by green and grassy areas. Lovely. People bring small bamboo baskets with fresh eggs in them and leave them in the hot springs - return later to eat soft or hard boiled eggs. Nearby is an area by a rushing river with small stone huts, each with individual stone sunken hot springs pool - you rent one for about $2 and have your own soaking hut while you listen to river. Heaven. There is also a large outdoor pavilion to get a massage - an hour for $5. I loved what I saw of Lampang province. Small agrarian villages - quite a great peaceful contrast to noisy Chiang Mai. I had hurt my foot so couldn't hike - but my friends trekked for a few hours to waterfalls and loved it.

I came alone to photograph the waterfall & enjoyed the walk high up the waterfall to take macro photos of life along the trail. No westerners accept me. Remote location & an easy drive from Lampang. Not much to see here but i was satisfied with some of my results.

We visited this park again after not going here for some years. And it was nice to be back. My daughter had us walk all the way to the top of the 7 ponds of the waterfall, and afterwards we rlaxed in one of the ponds, playing and feeding the fish in there. Some of the fish even came all close to us and tried to nip on our toes, hehe. We boiled our all important eggs in one of the hot springs 82 degrees c. for 18 minutes or so, I am not a fan of running egg white, but the hard egg jolk is good (the eggs boils and go hard the other way around in the hot spring).

If you have time I would really recommend having the traditional thai massage at the massages place by the hot springs, these ladies have the education from one of the temples in lampangs. So even if it hurt some times when they press and bend your body, it feels wonderfull.

The hot springs are very healing in this beautiful national park and after a full day of sightseeing we headed there for well needed refreshing. It was late afternoon when we got there and wandered through the hot stone area to the public baths. We all hopped in the tiled pool after showering and the water was surprisingly hot. We only stayed in the pool for about 15 mins then changed and enjoyed a beautiful Thai body massage - half an hour for 80 baht. We all agreed it was a lovely place where we should have spent more time.

About 70 km from Lampang city, this national park has varieties of activities to do , including soaking in the private room for hot bath , walking along rocks among vapor of sulfur of natural hot spring and walking through the tropical forest to reach Mae mon waterfall. At the national park office, there is ground for sleeping in the provided tents or booking to stay in private Bungalows.
