The Khan's former summer palace is a little dusty and looks a bit down at heel but great fun and interesting to see. I wouldn't be surprised if its in line for restoration work at some point, but you can really see how grand it...More

Outside of Bukhara is the lovely white summer place built by the Russians in 1914-1918 called moon and stars in Persian. Lovely rooms, especially the white hall and smaller rooms filled with art and artifacts. Three sides of the tea room are covered in windows...More

Interesting to see how the emir lived. Lot of soviet influence here but also wonderful mosaic and tiling. The rooms are fascinating with their bright paintwork and exhibitions of costumes and cloth and furniture. Lovely gardens with peacocks and a pond where the harem used...More

Lots of attractions, very ancient, interesting location. You may buy some souvenirs there for fair prices.

This Summer Palace was a Russian gift to the Emir of Bukhara and reflects the Tsarist taste, which included Art Noveau influences. There is an exceptionally good textile museum in the grounds and peacocks wander around the site.

The emir's fascination with Russian architecture is very apparent in the palace and grounds. Both inside and out, you get the feeling that you're somewhere in St. Petersburg .

Relatively modern palace built by the Emir's of Bukhara, although as noted by others also has a strangely Imperial Russian feel to it. Interiors are stunning, much like a museum, impressive collection of vases many of which are of Chinese origin. Pleasant gardens to wonder...More

Visited May 2015. This is quite an extraordinary insight into the rulers of Bukhara. This was built as a Summer palace. Only 3 buildings survive of the original 30, due to the ravages of the Bolshevik soldiers billeted here. The reception hall is pure white...More

We went here on a very hot afternoon and had a great guided tour. To see this place and the combination or architecture is definitely worth a trip. And naturally the harem story is colorful. We brought some 7 spices tea and a local lady...More
