We stayed in Tabriz. An easy drive to Kandovan. The village is famous for its manmade cave dwellings, local nuts, honey and herbs. Once you get to the village the entrance has one street for both directions. Expect slow driving and do not let it ruin your experience; enjoy the scenery. Some park their car outside the gates and some... More

I bought honeycomb from one of the many shops selling the produce from the many hives... More

We booked the 5-star hotel there and they arranged a car to pick us up from Tabriz. the hotel is great but there is some guesthouse in the village that you can also stay a night in the cave. About 50 USD. Per night but with spacious room and clean toilet.

It had a long drive ( 1/5 hours from Tabriz) but well worth. The village is still functioning in very very old structured houses. The locals were very friendly and had lots of different herbs and delicious honey.
