Wadi Rum is called also the Valley of the moon because it resembles the surface of the moon. We were about 55 friends ( males & famales; age range 20-60 year), reached there at about 9:00 am after driving for about 270 Km from Amman, we hiked about 27 km, and stayed there overnight, the desert was fascinating and the... Awesome desert scenery. Saw where they filmed the Matt Damon movie The Martian. Looks like you are really on another planet. The sand is red in many places. The large rocks/mountains rising from the desert floor are filled with multiple hues and colors because of all the different mineral deposits. Loved climbing the huge red sand dune and then up... I spent one day of my week long hiking trip in Wadi Rum and wish I could have had more time in this place. I will definitely never forget walking between these beautiful rock formations and watching the sunset from high above the desert ground. Sleeping in a Bedouin style camp is unforgettable. I will come back to climb and... More

We took a jeep tour for about two hours. We saw the various formation of the rock, nature' s carving of the rock. We were disappointed at first as it was cloudy and we did not expect to enjoy the sunset, but- we were supervised to see a magnificent sunset!

Had a great time sleeping in tents in the desert with the family, running in the sand dunes and enjoying a fantastic colour contrast and great scenery. Happy to come back!

The landscape is changing from sand dunes in different colors to mountains with beautiful rock formations to different unexpected unreal vegetation - It's absolutely beautiful! We also visited the ruins of the house of Lawrence of Arabia and met Bedouins who have been living in the Wadi Rum for many generations. Our tour guide's family is still living in Wadi... More

Red sands, red mountains and rocks, narrow gorges, amazing spaces and skies and stars.... and all the silence you need to take a break and think... A fantastic experience!

Ride the jeep, hike, take a camel, whatever you would enjoy, but do see it. The camps are fun and clean with a hearty meal for dinner. We stayed at the Star Camp and would highly recommend it.

I was a bit dubious when I saw on my tour information that it was a 4 by 4 ride and thought it smelled of tourist trap, why couldn't we just walk through it? Ha ha. I did not appreciate the scale of the place and realise that to walk through it would need an extra few days holiday. The... More
