Cruising the Mekong river to the cave is where the beauty is. You will get some good views of all the mountains around. The cave itself nothing especial just full of all sizes of Buddha. The view from the top is sensational .

We were looking forward to this tour, and really enjoyed the 25km boat ride up the river from Luang Prabang. However, the caves are less than spectacular, being relatively small. The caves are filled with countless statues of Bhudda and other religious shrine objects. There...More

It's a lengthy boat ride up the Mekong in order to get to the caves. You won't regret a second as every square inch of the landscape is breathtaking and will sit with you forever. The caves are a tad slippery so wear shoes that...More

About 40 odd Kms up the Mekong River from Luang Prabang. Worth a day trip. Recommend going up stream by Boat which can be easily organised from the River front in Luang Prabang and then come back by Private driver.

This is about a 45 minute ride down river from Luang Prabang. Once there, you can visit two different caves. One is up many stairs and it does require good health and stamina to get there. That cave is dark (bring or rent light) and...More

Quite a few steps to climb so make sure you're reasonably fit. Fascinating look at tradition and worship in Laos.

This cave was included in our 2 day Mekong river cruise. I was glad that the stopover was included in the trip. Having seen the cave, I am glad that I didn't make a trip specifically to visit the cave. But if this is one...More

There are two venues to get to the cave, tuk-tuk/cars and boats. We too the boat and spent more than two hours on the Mekong River to get to the cave. Experienced boat "conductor" helped negotiate huge rocks. It's a cave but, instead of climbing...More

I didn't go for Kayaking as flow of river was strong. But there is public transport ferry that leaves at 8.30 am every morning from main Pier. To and fro Charges are 60000 LAK per person.
