Visit here every time coming to PD. Beautiful forest on a hill jutting out into the sea.
Only RM1 entrance fee at the gate hear to Ilham Hotel. About 800m up the road to the lighthouse - then two options - climb steps to the right 100m before the lighthouse for the trail to Batu Buteh ( nice rocks with a view towards PD town - or continue past the lighthouse and follow the trail down to Pulau Intan on the southern tip of cape Rachado where there is a small beach and nice views. From Batuh Puteh you can climb down to the right to Monkey Bay and then back up to the access road near the entrance.

Please be highlighted that: The light house is not open for visit. Only see it and snap photos from far.
We arrive Cape Rachado's parking ground at about 1pm. It is big sunny day but the path is shady, no umbrella is needed. Our walk up hill takes about 20 minutes. Saw many monkeys along the way. When we arrive the top, snap photos with the light house, then descend. Nothing much unless you are hiking to the beach. Do bring extra clothing and towels as this is tropical forests, you will sweat.

Serene location with a lot to offer for nature buffs and twitchers.
Bush walks are really great and not difficult.
Really peaceful place to visit
Only downside is that the rubbish bins are not being emptied so people are trying doing the right thing by leaving their rubbish there but it’s not being picked up.
Why leave more rubbish if you can see it’s not being collected, though?
Recommend it for a good walk - you should plan 2 hrs. Bush walk isn’t great for very young children
Bring water; bring back the container.

Note: The light house is not open for visit (which was disappointing as I am sure the view from it is spectacular.)
Arrive Cape Rachado's parking lot just after noon. It was an overcast day, warm and humid, but the road is shady. The walk up hill takes about 20 minutes. Heard a lot of wildlife along the way but didn't see any. At the lighthouse which is NOT OPEN to the public, walked around the the top, snap photos with the light house. With the trees you cannot see the Malacca Straits very well. There are a number of nature trails to hike if that is of interest. There are also trails to hiking to the beach. Do bring extra shirt and towels as this is tropical forests, you will sweat.

A very beautiful place where I enjoyed the solo trekking inside the jungle, just to discover the hidden Batu Putih beach.
It's a truly remarkable experience well worth the effort. It is safe too.

Was surprised by 3 very hikeable trails within this cape. As it is peninsular, one can never get lost in there. We saw the rare dusky leaf monkeys at one of the beaches which makes the hike all worth it

Cape Rachado in Port Dickson has loads more to offer beyond a fantastic view of the Straits of Malacca. Located 18km south of Port Dickson town, the gazetted forest reserve and wildlife sanctuary has several hidden beaches, patches of mangrove swamps and a historical lighthouse at the summit.
As a stopover for over 300,000 migratory birds each year, this internationally recognised bird area is also a favourite bird watching spot.
For hiking enthusiasts and nature lovers, there are lovely hiking trails leading to rocky peaks with fantastic views and secluded beaches at the bottom. The terrain can change abruptly from jungle to rocky outcrop to beach to sea within a few meters. You will also see mangrove swamp and rocky shores.
The path, though steep has proper steps and a hand rail for support, making the going up and down very manageable for hikers of various fitness levels. Just go at a pace that is comfortable to you.
Seeing the sunrise at Pantai Intan made getting out of bed before dawn, worthwhile. For ten full minutes of awesomeness, we were totally mesmerised by the persimmon sky, silently capturing images of the bright orb rising above the horizon, changing from red to orange and finally a sunny yellow.
With the beach all to ourselves, I thoroughly enjoyed exploring it from end to end, discovering tonnes of tiny hermit crabs among the rockpools.
Eager to see the next hidden beach, we resumed our hike along the narrow but clear trail. Though it was an uphill climb, I didn’t feel overly exerted with the cool sea breeze blowing in. Continuing along the perimeter of the jutting cape, we ‘found’ the second hidden beach after another 30 minutes trek. As it was low tide, the sea at Pantai Masjid looked calm and very inviting.
There is also a spot here known as “Hang Tuah’s footprint”, where the legendary Malay warrior of the Malacca Sultanate, was supposed to have set foot.
From here, the jungle trail loops back to the lighthouse by way of a plank walkway, jungle trail and finally a zig-zag stairway for a quick elevation gain. You will pass an ancient Dutch well, used to supply drinking water.
Back on the road, on the way down to the entrance, watch out for a trail on the left to Batu Putih. The 400m trek to the peak of the white rocks promises a fantastic view of the coastline.
There is an entrance fee of RM1 for adults.
Best to go in the early morning, as it is cooler. If you go in the afternoon, bring enough water (2L) and insect repellant. Give yourself 2.5 to 3 hours (for the complete loop) so that you are done before it gets dark. There are no lights.
At the entrance, do take note of the location of interesting historical sights throughout the Tanjung Tuan Geological Heritage Site, so that you won’t miss them later.

The walk from the entrance to the lighthouse can be quite challenging. When you reach the lighthouse, you can only walk around the perimeter of the lighthouse. Do be careful when you walk around the lighthouse. The path can be dangerous. If you are not careful, you may fall off the edge of the hill.

We stayed at Lexis Hibiscus Port Dickson and took grab (RM 12). The walk to the lighthouse is about 20-30mins, in between there are shade around, basically you are walking under the trees.
The Lighthouse is locked, you can only walk around the lighthouse.

Difficult as it is in the middle of trees, unless you charter a boat :)
