Get immersed with the secrets of the Sahara Desert. First time camel ride...fun and exciting. Watch the sunset as we ride into the desert. The shadows of camels in a line is fantastic! Remember to bring along your GoPro!

Must see at least once. Beautiful dunes and very quiet. It can be very cold in winter so be sure to take warm clothes. Make sure to select the right operator as they can ruin the experience.

Two disclaimers up front: First, I currently live in Morocco and am no stranger to its diverse tourist attractions. Second, I typically write only negative - but informative - reviews. Erg Chebbi demands that I break that mold. Erg Chebbi is located on the western edge of the Sahara (Arabic for "desert") near the small town of Merzouga in central-eastern... More

Sunrise and sunset in the dunes was magical. Beautiful light. Riding a camel in the dunes was another wonderful thing. They are relatively remote, the landscape varies as you travel along and you get to immerse yourself in sand dunes in the Sahara Desert, a mind-blowing experience. Bare feet inserted in the sand in the morning provides a nice cool... More

Total Bucket List Experience. Since this is such a remote location, I would highly recommend watching the night stars. They are untouched by any urban light pollution. At daybreak, ride a camel to watch sunrise over the sand dunes. Our Berber guides were fantastic; they took many pictures of us with our camels, wrote our names in Arabic in the... More

If you stay in Erfoud take a trip to Erg Chebbi. If you have a rent a car, you can drive till small village of Hassi Labied before Merzouga, stay there for 2 nights and explore this beautiful dunes. Try good food by Berbers and enjoy the nature!

I was with an Intrepid group and this was included, so I don't know the name of the outfit that set us up with camels and tents. It was very well managed, though. We left our luggage in our van at the small inn and mounted our camels around 5 p.m. Then we rode for about 90 minutes into the... More

What a beautiful, peaceful place to visit. The night sky was astonishing, could see so many constellations. Sunrise over the dunes was so beautiful. This is a not to be missed location.

While Erg Chebbi is undoubtedly beautiful, the patch of sand here is relatively small, and there's hardly a dune not covered in footprints or 4WD tracks. Still, it is of course a lovely experience - especially if you do find a dune of your own for sunset.
