Get a tour if you can, so that you can get into the library, see the potters working, and get a glimpse of home life in this village.

visit the local pottery works, and enjoy the kasbah and mellah, where the oldest copy of the qoran is kept.

Very nice city, full of artisans and pottery shops. Its quite small town so with few hours you will be able to have a great look and find some really nice things. Famous for produce the green ceramic for all Morocco. Totally worth a visit.

We stopped here on the way to the desert and got to see one of the oldest libraries with 4000 books and the beautiful green pottery that comes from this region

We visited Tamegroute before leaving Zagora! It took us two hours with a local guide to see the underground kasbah, potteries, library,... We had the nicest guide ever!

To be there is like to go to a kind of a local pilgrimage in Morocco. The conbination between the saharian weather and the warmth of the draa people made Tamegroute one of the most desirable place to visit in the south of Morocco for researchers.

We came here to visit a friend who works at the old library here. This library has books that are thousands of years old and are still used today by scholars and students. A trip through desert Oasis to the dunes for a night in the heart of the Sahara with experienced drivers is exhilarating and Something to put on your bucket list. The food is always good and added entertainment with desert drums round the camp fire great fun.Do it by Camel if you are brave but 4x4 is more comfortable.
