Great view of the city, the Buddha itself was very impressive and looks nice lit up over Kandy at night.

You can reach this place by car. The monument is really impressive and you get a nice view over the city. It’s not as crowded as the temple down in the city.

My itinerary had no inclusion of this but I asked my driver to take me there when I was at Kandy View Point. It's a peaceful place and a statue itself is beautiful. However, there is an entrance fee of LKR. 250. There is a...More

I love all the large sitting and walking Buddha's around Sri Lanka. This one has a great view over parts of Kandy. You can walk in from the town or take a cheap tuk tuk. Worth the visit!

First of all I'd highly recommend taking a tuk tuk to visit this giant Buddha as the hill is very steep. Once there though you get a good view onto the city and who doesn't love a giant buddha

No it isn't. They charge you 200 rupees to get in, as well as more money to look after your shoes! whilst I was there they followed me around asking me for more money in the form of donations.
