I usually like museums as I find facts and the displays interesting to a degree, but this museum inside the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is borderline terrible. It's poorly labelled, if labelled at all, it's hot and stuffy as there's no air-conditioning, and...More

Lovely place to be, calm and quiet. Lots of historical information and artifacts. Must visit place if you are in Kandy. Hope the authorities will keep it as it is. Lot to learn from about the proud Sri Lankan history

The museum consists of a lot of artifacts without much context or explanation. We hoped to learn more about the history of Kandy and Sri Lanka (as this was our first destination) and have some respite from the heat but the museum didn't really deliver....More

Been here couple of times, where you can go back in time dreaming, whilst walking through the many corridors taking you to different rooms full of artifacts collected, which gives you and insight in to the life styles and utensils in ancient times. Further, walking...More

A decent sized museum with some interesting displays. Gets unbearably hot inside so bring some water and a fan! A camera pass is an additional cost.

Looks like it will take many months to complete. Building material and tools are carelessly dumped on the ancient stone carvings in the garden and no one seems to care

From gems to jewellery, swords to crowns, the museum is full of wonderful well preserved exhibits from from the Kandyan Kingdom, now relocated in newer premises inside the temple itself, a must visit for the curious / budding historian and school children.
