A great place to see how tea is processed and meet some of the people involved. We had a great time with a very knowledgeable tour guide who took us through the 5 different processes. The sixth part was very enjoyable as we had a chance to drink the tea and have a slice of cake.

This was a good tour. We started with visits to the factory area for the various production stages. It was a bit loud and you may not get all the details but enough to get the general drift. We saw samples of the various types of tea available, including golden tips and silver tips, the most expensive [the former at 6,000 rupees for 100 mg, making 150 cups of tea]. A piece of cake and a cup of broken orange pekoe tea followed. The range of teas were available for sale. There was nothing at all pushy about the sales’ end. Golden tips may be the best tea but this place set the gold standard for such tours.

A great little stop off on a Kandy tour. Entry is free & we were taken around by a guide who explained all the processes to us. It was VERY hot & quite dark in the factory & very interesting. At the end we were sat down in a far cooler area & served a cup of Ceylon tea. A great 60 minutes.

Just outside of Kandy. Free throughout. You will get your own personal guide of the factory and nearby plantation. Our guide was well rehearsed and spoke good English which was great. At the end of the tour you get a free brew and there is no obligation to buy anything. We indulged on some Silver Tips Tea which we look forward to enjoying when back in the UK. Worth the trip if only to kill a few hours and get out Kandy.

A visit to Sri lanka, would not be complete, with out visiting a tea factory, (in our opinion). This company was built in 1903, and not much regarding the process has changed. We did a tour of the tea process, from picking to drinking tea, it was an awesome tour, we finished off sampling the amazing orange pekoe tea, with the most delicious cookie/biscuits We walked away feeling great with a box of tea, to enjoy later.
