Go with a guide

This is located with a Mosque. There is lots to see but hard to do on your own. This is well guarded like all popular sites but easy to get to.

This is located with a Mosque. There is lots to see but hard to do on your own. This is well guarded like all popular sites but easy to get to.

I went back in 2007 I think - wow, so much history and a spectacular spot. Plenty to explore but best with a group and a guide.

I think few realise just how much Syria has to offer, not only with regard to the culture but the simple landscape. Much of it is breath taking, despite the bombs and drama. The Latakia mountains are a fine example of a beauty that people just do not know exists. Some of the nicest lakes I've come across. Worth a... More
