We enjoyed our couple of hours around this area - but then again - we like walking. If you plan to cross to the island (by the unique 8 bumped bridge) to explore the caves and the lighthouse then good flat shoes are recommended as the boardwalk eventually gives way to a very rocky area that needs to be traversed.... Go on a weekday morning and check for low tide! The tide-pooling is great, the grounds lovely, and it's totally worth the hike over the 8-humped bridge and around the island. Bring water!!

Beautiful pebble filled beach with a lovely footbridge connecting the mainland to an island. It would have been great if it had been good weather when we visited, but the cloudy, gloomy skies gave it a different feeling. Definitely a must see location if visiting the east coast of Taiwan. You can easily spend a few hours here.

I've seen this bridge in postcards and maybe it was the dreary day, but it seemed a lot more beautiful and exciting in postcards. Beware that the 8 humped bridge means ascending/descending over 500 stairs!!!

Blessed with great weather, we visited Sanxiantai and had a nice stroll. The kids had fun, especially crossing the bridge to 三仙岛 and the pebbles beach! A great place to go to with young children, enjoying great breezy weather!

this was one of the stop on our tour bus. Before this, I've never heard of this place. It was on a very windy, and cold day, but we had our jacket on as a trek through the bridges that spans between the islands. Gorgeous scenery only wishing for more time spent. Very clean facility with bathrooms and many local... More

This is one of those Taiwan attractions which is great if you get it almost to yourself but woeful if you get the hacking, smoking and screaming Chinese but tourist brigade hitting it en masse. I have experienced both conditions. Last time i noticed that most tourists only climb to the first of the dragon bridge's eight spans. A bit... More

It was quite late in the afternoon around 3 to 4 + and sky was getting dark so we were kind of being hurried here and there. Took some photos. Climbed and walked to the middle of the bridge only. No time to go the island. Would love to come again to explore.

Nice place to visit at least two hours, the bridge is really nice and the walk to the cave and lighthouse is interesting, beautiful view from the lighthouse.

A great hike over the eight "humps" to get on the little island to get to the lighthouse. Provide at least 2 hours to fully explore the area.
