Well. It is a nice little area with a few nice little cafes and shops and a.Starbucks nearby. But so many closed, shuttered or empty shops. I gave it 3 stars because for Taidong this seems to be as good as it gets.

Tiehua Music Village comes alive at night, with many roadside stalls selling handmade stuff (at affordable and reasonable prices). There is also live performances for you to enjoy (free admission, but you have to get drinks with minimum spend of NTD$120 - still very affordable!). It's a great thing to do at night if you do not feel like walking... More

Music is entertaining even if you don't get the lyrics. Ticket comes with 1 drink (Beer/Coke/Sprite) and you can take your own food/drinks from outside to have during the performance. There are tables with... More

Who doesn't like live music! There are various bands that play here throughout the week. Be careful when you go though as the main acts are on the weekend. Sometimes on Wed they have open mic night and on Thu the house band plays. The cover charge is that you spend a certain amount (depending on the act). It's usually... More

Just 10-15 walk from the Haibin Park (海濱公園). Interesting things here: 1. the original Taitung Station with the platform, railway and gates which is no longer in use 2. Statues and art work all here and there 3. Booths selling different things and if you come early before the crowds, the booth owners are willing to chat Relaxing and artistic
