Finca Los Monos (the Monkey Farm) is situated on Isla Colon, the largest island in the enchanting archipelago of Bocas del Toro, , Panama. The islands enjoy a steady temperature of between 80 and 93 degrees (27 C – 33 C) all year round, with adequate rainfall to keep them lush and humid. Over the years we have created a magnificent garden with large collections of heleconias, gingers, palms, flowering trees, fruit trees, spices and ornamentals. New plants are constantly being added to the property.

There is always something new to learn about, flora or fauna. Lin's knowledge is impressive. And the work that she and her husband have done to create the gardens over many years is unbelievable. When on Isla Colon, this place shouldn't be missed.

Got a great tour of the garden from Lin. She has such a passion for the garden and its contribution to the community. Her self taught knowledge knows no bounds. Fascinating tour of the exotic gardens topped off with some refreshing lemon grass tea!

I joined a group of 15 people for this delightful a delight and informative tour on Friday morning. To think that the owners cut out this area from the jungle starting 20+ years ago is amazing. There are plants native to Panama as well as plants from around the world. The approximately 2 hour walk was not overly strenuous, but... More

I can't say I had planned to visit the Finca Los Monos Botanical Garden on my trip to Bocas town, but i was looking for a place to spend my last day, the people at my local hotel suggested this was a must see! They were not wrong, was a lovely tour of the vision and creation of Lin and... More

Finca los Monos is beautiful! There are two tours per week, on Fridays and Mondays; while I think they're typically not filled, it's a good idea to email ahead for reservations.

At first I thought that spending a couple hours in a garden was going to be too long but I could have spent 4 hours on her tour. It was full of interesting information and we saw so many animals. Caimens, poisonous and not poisonous frogs, bats, toucan type birds, and more. It was a great hike, not too strenuous... More

A nice spot to enjoy a pleasant tour of botanical gardens. A variety of flowers and trees were there. We were given a very informative tour. The cost of the tour was $20 for adults, a bit pricy but all in all not outrageous. Recommended to see.
