We just returned from a memorable 3 week visit to India. The trip organized by Explore India was perfect in pretty much every way. They were working extremely hard to ensure that our tip was as successful as possible. Every commitment made by the company was met or surpassed and the itinerary, especially the Kerala portion was tailor-made for us.
The 12 day northern part of the tour had 10 passengers, our guide Arvind was very knowledgeable and shared his love for his country with us generously. We stayed at 5 star hotels and had many good Indian meals.
In the Kerala portion there was only the two of us, we had a car, SUV, and driver the whole time, guides assigned to us as needed. We also stayed at Marari Beach resort, a 5+* resort, it was a good way to wind up our 50th anniversary celebratory trip.
India is a country of contrast and unsurpassed beauty, a bucket list destination! The people are friendly and look forward to spend time with visitors; at no time did we feel threatened. Additionally, Explore India seemed to keep an eye on us, especially when we were just the two of us in the south. The covid-19 virus was a non-issue.
Highlights of the trip were the many forts and palaces, the TajMahal, the Ranthambore national park, seeing the tigers in the wild and Varanasi and the sacred Ganges in the north. Kerala in the south is like they say "God's own Country" and it truly is worth the visit.
We thank Explore India and the many good people in India who made our trip one of the most memorable.

We began planning our first trip to India in July 2019. We were very fortunate to have been referred to Explore India Journeys Inc. From the first call Nazir Karnai and his associates responded immediately to any request from those in our small group organizing travel including flights, baggage advice, visas etc.and tours. Initially we chose the "Impressions of India" tour but as we discussed our wishes with Nazir we developed extensive post tour travel to Mumbai and then south to Kerala.

From the moment of our very early arrival at the Delhi airport we were guided and informed by a very efficient and congenial individual who stayed with us through the entire time in both the north and south tours. Vishal was always able to answer our questions on geography, history, architecture and culture. Even where times for travel by air, bus or train were odd or early he was always there with his driver to get us on our way.

Our hotels and the service were all great. We began in Delhi and got an immediate experience visiting Jama mosque and then a rickshaw ride through the narrow streets of old Delhi. We traveled to Jaipur (the Pink City) and then on the following day to Ranthambore where we visited the National Park to view the numerous deer, bears, gazelles and of course follow the beautiful tigers as they played and hunted.

Our visits to Agra and the Taj Mahal followed by travel through Jhansi and Khajuraho brought us to Varanasi where we took a boat onto the Ganges to see the bathing Ghats along the shoreline. We returned to the river at sunset to view the devotional ceremony of Aarti. The experience in Varanasi is one we will remember always.

We then flew to Mumbai where we experienced a significant portion of the city before flying south to Kochi in Kerala. The lifestyle was different allowing us some greater time to relax and see a much different part of the country. We drove through the hills of Thekkady and toured expansive tea fields and spice plantations. Then we boarded a vessel for an overnight stay after which we were dropped at the very beautiful Kumarakom Lake Resort for a wonderful relaxing time in the sun and warm swimming pools.

Throughout our travels our drivers were excellent in traffic quite different to that at home. Our guide diligently watched over the safety of the entire group as well as our baggage and belongings. We returned home with a lifetime of memories and a desire to return.

We did a 10 day tour of India and 5 day tour of Nepal with "Explore India Journeys" and our experience was excellent. Both tours Explore India Journeys set us up with exceptional & knowledgeable local guides. In India we had Rajeev SSharma and in Nepal we had Robin.

India is an eye opening trip and the monuments are defiantly something to see! On the other hand I felt the remote village trip was a heartwarming one. This tour took us by jeep to a local school to interact with the children and to a farming families home to see how they work and their living conditions. Though their living conditions are much different than ours what amazed me was how happy these people are without any technology.

Nepal was also amazing, though a lot of Kathmandu's temples and sites are in ruin it is still something to see. We would recommend less time in the city of Kathmandu as many of the temples are very similar and more time in Nagarkot. Though the ride up the mountain is rough the mountain top view from the hotel is totally worth it. Make sure you go to the roof top patio for sunrise and sunset as the view of the Himalayan mountains is breathtaking.

We’ve been home for 6 weeks and we’re still talking about our great experiences in India with Explore India Journeys. It seems like on every day of our tour something remarkable occurred – famous sights. cultural visits, delicious dishes, music and dancing, wildlife, colourful crowds, serene vistas, traffic chaos. As we read the other reviews here, we have very little to add about the India arrangements except to echo the praise of the guides, drivers, and India support staff that made our visit so memorable.
The trip planning deserves special mention. We initially contacted Explore India with a series of questions about the small group tour “Impressions of India” and the add-on tour to Kerala, as well as other places we wanted to visit - Darjeeling, Kolkata, the Sundarbans, Udaipur. We discussed options and dates by phone with Nazir, and he put together an itinerary that included a private tour with local guides and drivers followed by the small group tours for a total of 33 days in India. We refined that with him and quickly came to an agreement. The whole process was very professionally handled by Nazir and his staff in Vancouver. They were responsive to our suggestions and clarified all the details. We were very reassured about the plan, and as it turned out, the actual tour greatly exceeded already high expectations.
Others have suggested you should give Nazir a call. Do it!

Dear Explore India team:
Now that I am safely back home in Trinidad, I can turn my attention to my recent trip to India and reflect on the details of my two-week existence in India (03/2020). There are no words to describe this experience other than to use words like phenomenal, life changing, spiritual, exciting, heart-breaking, and the list could go on. However, I would like to use this forum to express my gratitude and profound appreciation beginning with arrangements from applying for an e-visa to my return home. Nazir, you and your team in Canada, Shruti and Mandira, smoothened my journey every step of the way and I would recommend your company and this tour without any hesitation.

Nazir, I will begin with you. Your attention to detail is surpassed by none. This trip was very well organized from start to finish – the hotels, the service, the food, the tours, the care and concern from everyone that ensured our safety – not to mention your involvement in tracking the group’s every step to ensure our safety. As the corona virus panic hit the world, you walked every phase with us and me, as I went on to Mumbai. You stayed in touch, not only to ensure I boarded my flight out of India, but to help me remain calm. Your words, “Go to bed and leave the worry to me,” helped me enjoy Mumbai and for that, I am eternally grateful.

Mr. Sharma, your passion for the history of your country was evident in your voice as you regaled us with facts about India. Even as my eyes closed on the bus from tiredness, your stories and knowledge about the history and current events in India held my interest – I listened. You navigated a diverse group and met the needs of each of us with ease and generosity. More so, your respect for all of us as a group and as individuals was commendable.

And Hilal Ahmed, I struggle to find the right words to describe your care and loving support as you ensured our own special requests were met. You organized airport transactions, luggage, and overall smoothened our comings and goings that made us feel very safe in a foreign country. More so, you were in tune with the different personalities of the group and operated as each needed.
As the health situation in the world worsened, it became necessary for the two of us travelling on to Mumbai, to have a member of the Explore India team travel with us. You went over and beyond the call of duty to “guard” us as you would a family member. I recall my high anxiety and loss of appetite on my last day where you pushed your omelette in front of me and simply said, “Eat, I am here. You will be ok.” You used your connections at the airport to ensure a smooth departure out of Mumbai and remained with us until our boarding passes were in our hands. I cannot thank you enough.

My gratitude to Explore India for a most memorable trip – the trip of a lifetime!

My husband and I are celebrating our 40th Wedding Anniversary in 2020 & a trip to India was our gift to each other. We have had India on our list of places to visit for many years and we were so fortunate to have Explore India arrange a private tour of Northern India for us. Nazir & Mandira in Vancouver were excellent arranging the details of the travel, chose beautiful hotels and have exceeded our expectations on customizing a luxurious holiday! They were always quick to respond to any questions and provided detailed instruction on arranging e-Visa, money exchange, etc.

All of the Explore India team in India were so professional & helpful. Sachin Sethi, the Manager of Operations located in Delhi checked in on our trip every few days to make sure all was going well. The tour is so well organized and there was absolutely no stress. The company & employees really never missed anything. They have all the travel plans down to a fine science! Many of the hotels had been advised in advance that we were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary & we were presented with beautiful cakes upon arrival.

The local guides in each place were wonderful & gave us so much history of each Fort, Temple, Mosque, Palace, etc. They were all incredibly knowledgeable, so happy to share their knowledge in an interesting, professional way. They all showed a great passion for their country & incredible history. They share the cultural nuances that you just can't get from a guide book.

Tejinder Singh Virdi, our driver for the tour, was fantastic. We can’t say enough about him…he truly is a No. 1 professional driver. As one guide said of him, “Tejinder spreads happiness to all he meets.” And we agree. He was always prompt, drove in sometimes impossible traffic without ever getting stressed. Consequently we trusted his driving 100%. He always had a big smile to greet us, was so friendly and is a very proud father and family man. He kept the car immaculate and always refreshed the snacks & water every time we left the car. We felt that we had gained a true friend by the time we said goodbye at the Delhi Airport.

All of the hotels were beautiful! We so enjoyed the Ramathra Fort! It was a quiet respite from the city. Such a beautiful area of India and off the beaten track which is nice to see. Of course, the highlight was the Taj Lake Palace in Udaipiur. It was incredible! What service and hospitality. We also loved the Brij Rama Palace in Varansi.

Although we only spent 3 weeks in India, we both felt we learned so much about the complex ancient history of India. There are to many highlights to name however I can honestly say it was the best trip we have ever had! We are definitely planning another visit to the Southern part of India.

Mere words cannot capture, or describe, the wonderful experience that was our "Impressions of India" trip. It featured an extensive, but flexible itinerary, superb organization by Explore India, first class accommodations, and a Tour Guide Extraordinaire in Vishal, whose knowledge, good humour, patience and obvious pride in this fascinating country added immeasurably to the experience. My wife and I have been fortunate to have travelled extensively and we would rate this as one the top travel experiences we have enjoyed; kudos to Nazir and the whole Explore India Team, both in Canada and in India. Last November I took a tour to India with Explore India with my brother and sister. This trip was special or two reason; firstly I had not traveled with my siblings for many years and secondly India has always been on my bucket list of countries that I wanted to explore. Therefore my expectations and my excitement to do this tour were high. I was not disappointed. I usually organize my own trips but after visiting India for the first time I was heartened to have used Explore India as my overall guide. India can be overwhelming given its size, its diversity, its large population and an ever present hustle and bustle almost wherever one goes. As you are told choose one part of India and do it well. Explore India did that for me and I got to most of the main areas and sites during my three week stay.

All aspects of the tour were professionally done; accommodation, transportation, our exceptional tour guide and the management of all logistics that made our experience extra special and care free. I can truly say we were pampered and we all left India feeling that we had a front row seat to this wonderful country and culture.

The one dimension of the tour which particularly appealed to me was the in-depth knowledge of our tour guide. He helped us better understand the history, culture and background to many of the places we visited. If you wanted more details he was happy to provide you with it.

Just returned from a two week tour of India with Explore India. The scenery and history was just amazing, certainly unlike anything we had experienced before. Not every day that you get to see a tiger in its natural habitat!
The hotels were top rate, as was the in country transportation. Can't ignore the fact that this trip occurred as the Covid 19 global pandemic was really starting to make itself felt.
Our guide Shyam who was most knowledgable, was always looking out for our best interests, and adapted to changing conditions in a most professional and positive manner (adding an impromptu visit to an ancient "step well" was a real highlight).
For several of the group who had added on extensions to this tour, and then seen them cancelled due to the global health concerns, complicated arrangements had to be made late in the trip to get them home earlier and safely.

We would not hesitate to recommend this company for future tours.
A big thanks to Shyam, Nazir and the rest of the Explore India team!

Our trip was well executed from the moment we registered with Explore India.Nazir and Mandira were very attentive to all our inquiries. Our hotels were beautiful and well appointed with comfortable rooms to exceptional service. The trip was more than we could have expected. From the knowledgeable guide, Mr Sharma, whose stories of India and it’s culture enlightened us every day to the comfortable and interesting modes of transportation . Loved the rickshaw ride through Old Delhi, Elephant ride in Jaipur, and the luxury ride in our tour bus with such experienced drivers dodging the traffic and sacred cows. The Explore India team worked tirelessly during a strained time through the Corona panic. They kept us safe and interested in the culture and history of the country they obviously are proud to show us. We learned more stories than anyone could read in history books. High praise to the entire team.Recomendation for this company is A+
