This is one of the best places I visited in Delhi. It's very close to Old Delhi, just in front of Raj Ghat park. The entrance is free. Inside of the building you can see several objects owned by Mahatma, including his fabric/yarn "chakras." A lot of pictures, newspaper articles, etc. But the most impressive thing is his memorial. A... More

National Gandhi Museum is located near the memorial of Mahatama Gandhi - i.e. near Rajghat, New Delhi. This building, grounds, and exhibits inside are truly a must see. The series of panels as you first walk in tells much of Gandhi's history, and that of the independence and freedom fighters of India. Definitely take time to walk along these panels and... More

This was a great museum, with interesting history and personal facts. The whole museum is done thoughtfully and with some excellent interactive interpretations. I could have stayed there for much longer (stayed over 1 hour) - I certainly learnt a lot and appreciated the whole experience.

This is the home of India's first Prime Minister after the end of colonialism. Lots of original furniture and also wall displays of historical items. Not much context and hard to grasp if you are not already familiar with Indian history. Not air conditioned and lots of stairs and long corridors. We wished that there were some short videos available... More

There is a lot here--history of India, history of Gandhi's life, and interactive artistic interpretation of Gandhi's ideals, and a tribute to the final months and day of his life. Very educational.

This is an extremely interesting museum if one is interested in Gandhi and Indian history. The collection of photographs, excerpts from newspapers of the day and collection of personal items makes for an authentic and memorable museum experience. Having already read Gandis book by by Bobby Fischer I had a good general knowledge but there is only so much you... More

I don't know why I was expecting more of this museum. It was very plain and bare-bones. It had a lot of photos and mementos of Ghandi. He lived a very simple life and this museum reflects that.
