The India Gate, built in 1931 and designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens, was inspired by the Arc de Triomphe. It commemorates India's war dead and houses an eternal flame.

Worth a quick visit - free, so price is good! View up the avenue to government buildings is unfortunately limited due to persistent Delhi ‘fog’. Gate is impressive, good for a few photos.

Visiting India Gate a year after being at the Thiepval Monument also designed by Lutyens is a doubly moving experience.

A great monument and attraction - even better that it's free to see; Note that you'll be harassed and solicited by multiple vendors trying to sell their photography services, snacks or souvenirs.

Great site spoilt by beggars and being bombarded by locals to buy crap like stickers. Come for a short stay to see the site and try your best not to make eye contact.

You can see this monument from a long way off. There were lots of people there, mit was very busy. Lots of street sellers. Plenty of souvenirs.

The history is interesting and its a landmark that is recommended by tour guides as a thing to see. It should be seen like Big Ben should be seen in London, but like Big Ben once you've seen it that's it
