It was nice to see and we were thankful to have a local with us who could explain some of the things to us, but the place surrounding the gate was filled with hawkers and rubbish.

We literally stopped here for 5 minutes as part of a city tour, this is all you need to take some photos of this famous Delhi landmark.

The India gate is an important war memorial. It is large and well sited on a long straight road surrounded by parkland. Definitely worth seeing, but dont plan on a long visit here.

Take metro from new Delhi metro station to Central Secretariat Metro station. And walk for 1 km on rajphath from there. And you will reach your destination

I was there Sunday and it was closed already, for the Independence Day celebrations.
